A Fishing Fool (Coastal Charter) 

We had an absolutely phenomenal trip with Captain Mike! Our group of six booked a 4-hour afternoon charter, and it exceeded every expectation. Our group of anglers had mixed skill levels, ranging from expirenced to first timers, and Captain Mike made sure everyone felt comfortable and confident. The boat was spotless and spacious, the equipment was top-notch, and we fished with live bait, which made for an incredible experience. In less than three hours, we caught over 30 fish. Our haul included speckled trout, black drum, sheepshead, blue catfish, flounder, and even a few stingrays. Beyond the fishing, we had an amazing time out on the water with perfect weather and great energy all around. afterwards, Captain Mike filleted our catch, so we were able to take everything home and enjoy it afterward. I’ve been on several charters in different countries, and this trip was hands down my favorite. I can’t recommend this trip enough—whether you’re a seasoned angler or a complete beginner. If you’re even thinking about booking, don’t hesitate. Captain Mike is the real deal and will make sure you have an unforgettable time. I will be booking again when Red Drum is in season! Pro tip: bring some cutwater canned cocktails for the trip :)

We had a great time fishing with Captain Mike today! He took 5 of us out ranging in age from 68 down to a couple 7 year olds. Everyone had a great time and we caught plenty of fish! Captain Mike went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed for the kids to have a great time. This trip was a Christmas present for my nephew and he loved it so much he said he wants to skip the Mardi Gras parades next time they fly down and just go fishing. We enjoyed sharing stories and chatting with Captain Mike throughout the day and would definitely book another charter with him in the future. It was a great trip and he’s a great Captain I highly recommend!

We had an incredible fishing trip with Captain Mike! He made sure to ask what we wanted to catch, checked in on us the day before and tailored the whole trip for us. Captain Mike knew exactly where to take us and you can tell he really knows his stuff. We ended up catching plenty of fish, including a pretty big redfish which was the cherry on top of this whole day!! On top of that, Captain Mike went above and beyond by helping us arrange a ride back to New Orleans so we didn’t have to spend a fortune on an Uber. That kind of thoughtfulness meant a lot to us. This was easily one of the best fishing experiences we’ve ever had. We had a blast, caught a ton of fish, and felt taken care of the entire time. Next time we’re back in town, we’ll definitely be booking with Captain Mike again—we know he’ll do right by us!

Captain Mile was amazing and a great guide. We all shared stories and laughed at jokes for the trip. There was never a dull moment. We were a group of 6 on a getaway trip, and had plenty of room on the boat. The boat was clean and orderly, Fishing was plentiful, everyone caught plenty of fish and upon return to the marina he wasted no time filleting up fish. Overall Captain Mike is definitely one of the best charter captains anywhere he makes it seem like you’re on a boat with an old friend just enjoying nature, fishing and good company. He seems eager to always catch fish and be friendly no matter what. If you are in New Orleans or Slidell, A Fishing Fool is the charter to take for some good fishing and company. 5/5 Stars

Capt. Mike is top notch! On a day where the conditions were not the best for fishing, Captain Mike still was able to get us to put fish in the cooler. We watched dozens of other boats struggle while we we on the water but not us Captain Mike knew where the fisb were and put us on them. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to catch fish.
