Papagayo Fishing – ‘Bahamas Boat’ 

great time fishing! Arnoldo and Mark took care of us from the start. had all sorts of snacks and beverages. other special touches of serving watermelon during the trip along with sushi from one catch...delicious!!! it was a great morning!!!

We caught our targeted fish...4 of them...the Roosterfish ;)

Captain Genaro and his deck hand Jeremy were fantastic. They totally added to our experience. They spoke great english which is a huge plus for us. The Captain asked what kind of fishing experience we were looking for and we told him that “we wanted each of us (three) to catch any kind of fish to knock catching a fish in Costa Rica off our bucket list. From there we would like to catch some big open water fish.” The captain took us out for about an hour and put us on 5 big Mahi Mahi in the first three hours of us fishing. Not only was the fishing everything we could have asked for, Genaro was very personable and had lots of local knowledge about the fishing and history of Costa Rica. On our trip we also were lucky enough to see humpback whales, sea turtles, dolphins, flying fish, rays, and a few sail fish jumping out of the water. I will definitely book with them again and tell anyone who is looking for a good crew to fish with in Costa Rica to use Papagayo Fishing.

Three Mahi Mahi!! One beautiful Blue Marlin and an enormous black Marlin!! Great Captain and First Mate worked with kids ages 19-12 catch their own fish!! The most amazing day!! Thank you for adding highlight to our trip and Everlasting memories for our family!!

We caught about 8 tuna and the crew was very helpful and did everything to get us some fish. I would recommend this experience 100%.

Juan and his brother know what they are doing. Even during a swell, we caught two fighting roosters and some Tuna more inland. Good half day trip with Cervezas and a breeze. I’d recommend.

Great boat! Great crew! Just didn’t catch as many as we would have liked but that’s part of fishing.

Could not recommend these guys enough if you are planning on a fishing trip in Papagayo! For the full 6 hours Geremy and Alberto worked tirelessly to put us on to the fish. A bucket list trip and it didn’t disappoint. Wasn’t long before we hooked onto a bunch of bonito. Then hit 3 Mahi Mahi with the third being a monster! We fished hard right to the end and even managed to get a barracuda. The boat was well equipped, both captain and first mate incredibly knowledgable and the whole process from booking to pickup to drop off seamless. If (or when) we return to Costa Rica I will 100% be using this fishing charter again! Thank you for a memorable day ??

This was an excellent fishing trip, my first in Costa Rica and Pacific waters. Eddy the captain and Israel the deck hand were great. They worked hard to put us on fish. We didn't get the Yellow Fin Tuna or Snapper we wanted, but we got 8 Mahi Mahi and took a lot of fish back to the resort for many to enjoy. We caught Rooster, Bonita and Jacks also for a fun day on the water. The crew provided plenty to eat and drink. They filleted the Mahi and bagged it for us. One thing that was not explained ahead of time, the contact person is not always who will be on the boat. I communicated with Jose, but it seems he was the boss, but not who worked the boat. Also, Jose tried to make me pay for the accidental breakage of a fishing pole when the very large Rooster fish slipped out the crews hands while trying to bring it on board. Crew tried to explain it was not my fault, as I did to him on the phone, but not to his satisfaction.

Everything went very smooth. The captain started with asking of my expectations and target fish. Very professionel captain and crew. After sailing to the fishing grounds, it did not take long for the frist yellowfin tuna to get on deck. Short after we hooked a big rooster, 140 cm and around 30 kg! Several more yellowfin with the largest around 10 kg. I lost a very big fish and a nice mahi mahi as well. All goes to tell that they could find fish and knew what they very doing! Definately recommendable!
