Drift boat fishing on the world-famous Salmon river can be an extremely effective way to target salmon and trout from September through May. Our new 2024 Willie drift boat keeps you comfortable through out the day while fishing in style. WE OFFER MULTIPLE TRIPS ON BOTH LAKE AND RIVER- if you book for fall run we will take you to the best location possible for a high success rate. RATES may vary slightly if we make the decision to go to the lake if the river is not fishing well. This decision is made between both the customers and myself - ensure you are not going on a sight seeing tour- we go to the fish!
Come fish with USCG captain and NYS guide Joe Sicherman on the famous salmon river. 9 years full time of guiding experience and hundreds of days on the water per year ensures a good experience for your group
I guide the river full time, 7 days per week to ensure a quality experience for my customers. Booking with us ensures you are getting a full-time, fully insured, local, and licensed captain to teach you the knowledge to put fish in the boat
September and October, we target large migratory king and coho salmon from the mouth of the river all the way up to the spawning grounds, and everything in between. This is a busy time of the year on the river, and the incredible fight from salmon draws a huge crowd.
Steelhead and brown trout enter our rivers following the salmon run beginning in October and continuing through the fall, winter, and spring. This is by far our longest season and my personal favorite. Steelhead and brown trout fishing takes finesse and skill that is not quickly learned. The tips and tricks you would learn on a steelhead trip are invaluable on the river. My passion for steelhead fishing runs deep. I stay busy through the winter months targeting trout, often the best time to fish them is the winter and we do not let up. Propane heaters in my drift boat keep you fishing and comfortable. Steelhead fishing is extreme in nature and rewarding.

For more than 35 years I hosted a television show seen throughout North America on many of the outdoor networks. During that time, my wife and I worked with 100s of professional fishing and hunting guides whose performance ranged from the exceptional to the very worst. During our recent trip with 27-year old Captain Joe S., we were thoroughly surprised by his fishing abilities, knowledge, safety concerns, and social propensity. There are many chooses when it comes to booking a Capt or guide, Capt Joe is the right choice. He knows how to read the client, the water and the fish and can quickly figure out the best and most comfortable approach to catching and enjoying the day on the water without making anyone uncomfortable. Over the years I have hired too many captains to remember, and know a good one from one that just wants to collect $. He's in the best of the best class and a smart choice for your next trip.
