we had an amazing charter with captain mike. Not only did we catch fish but we gained a new friend. Captain mike took us out and was very informative the entire time and put us on fish as soon as the first pole hit the water. we limited out within 1.5-2 hrs but with the environment the captian created we could have stayed on the water all day. I would reccomend this charter to anyone interested in having a good time. Thetr is no guarantee in fishing but with this charter i believe youd have the best chance. We did. thanks agian and we will 100% be back and it is unlikely i will choose any other charters.

We went out on August 10, 2025, with Capt. Larry’s Charters 2 out of Lorain — just me, my brother, and our kids (ages 6 and 7). We had such a great time that I had to write this review right away. We caught close to 30 walleye, including some small ones that we released. The kids did all the reeling — every fish that came on board was because of them! Of course, my brother and I helped hold the rods and guide them, but it was really a hands-on experience for the little ones. Capt. Mike was absolutely amazing. Super friendly, patient, and funny — he joked around with the kids, answered every question (and trust me, my 6-year-old had a lot), and made sure they felt involved the whole time. My older son kept asking to measure every fish we caught, and Mike happily obliged. He even offered to clean the fish afterward, but since we live 2.5 hours away and we wrapped up around 7 PM, we had to pack up and go. That said, he helped us pack the fish on ice in our cooler so they stayed fresh all the way home. Now my kids are already begging to go back — this time for the 7-hour morning trip! Looks like we’ll be booking again soon. Thanks, Capt. Mike, for an unforgettable memory with our boys. Highly recommend this trip for families with young kids who want a safe, fun, and truly engaging fishing experience.

Capt. Mike was fantastic with our mixed group of peeps on board. He was flexible with the one guy who just had to kiss his first fish of the day, and the others who wanted to learn more technical skills. He got us to our fishing spot in a hurry. The lines were set fast and we were nearly reeling them in one after the other. We went out on a hot afternoon (heat wave July 2025)… as everyone knows that is not the most ideal conditions for Walleye. Yet, we pulled in a significant haul, (22 keepers in all). I was thankful to pick this outfit based on the reviews found on here. On of them, reminding me of how nice it is to have a place to escape the sun on this crazy hot day.

The fishing trip was a great experience. My kid had been asking to go for years now and we finally were able to go. Our 12 year old and us parents had a blast! So glad we went with Capt. Larry’s Charter 2, and Capt. Mike was the best! From start to finish, the charter was absolutely fantastic. Mike was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a successful and enjoyable trip. While we were experienced fisherman from the northwoods, we had never fished on Erie. Mike took the time to educate us and taught us about trolling on Erie and the weights and baits he used. What truly blew us away was how quickly we were catching fish. Within just two hours, we had caught our legal limit of (18) beautiful walleye,with a few really nice sized ones too! The action was pretty much non-stop, and Mike was right there to help with netting, taking the fish off and keeping the lines in the water. The boat was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable, making for a pleasant ride even when the lake had a bit of chop to it. We plan on coming back again!

I booked the charter for my brother in law as he wanted to have one of our family members experience walleye fishing on Erie. Three of the group had experience fishing the big water but the fourth had none but was super excited to experience the adventure. Met Captain Jason at the parking area adjacent to their dock, went thru the meeting formalities and proceeded to get ready to head out. Before leaving the dock, Jason explained safety procedures and pointed out locations of the safty equipment, how the weather was shaping up at the time, a light rain was starting, said the waves were running about 3 to4 feet, and when we cleared the break wall if we were uncomfortable with conditions we could return to the dock and reschedule. All agreed to go out, off we went. After a bumpy ride, arrived at the starting point Jason had picked out, explained how we were going to fish, showed and demonstrated the gear, we got started. A bit slow, one here, one there, he continued to adjust our position until the screen was loaded up with fish, then the fun started. Multiple rods hooking, reeling in, netting and returning the baits back more bites, pretty soon we were setting the rods up to give the Capt time to do other things. A slow start turned into a circus, limited out, secured the gear and headed back to the dock. Jason was extremely knowledgeable and safety conscious, a great pilot. As an aside, he also cleaned all the fish for us, while the group rested and recapped the trip. A wonderful charter, we'll be back!
