Depending on the season, you might hook into Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, and plenty more. You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Also remember to bring snacks – lucky for you, there will already be some on board!
You'll be welcome aboard a 42' Buddy Harris Custom sportfishing vessel that holds up to 9 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and a hat. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks provided on board.
