Captain Doug is a U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain who has spent a lifetime fishing the waters of the Texas Gulf Coast. He learned the ins and outs of fishing from his father at a young age, starting when he first held a fishing rod at just five years old. His father’s favorite saying, “Let’s get this ole Seahorse moving,” inspired the name of his charter, TX-Seahorse Charter, as a tribute to his dad and everything he passed down to him.

Today, Captain Doug specializes in laid-back, fun-filled bay fishing trips targeting Speckled Trout and Redfish, two of the area’s most iconic coastal species. He enjoys watching guests experience the excitement of landing a great fish, whether it’s their first catch or their fiftieth. For him, fishing is about more than the catch; it’s about spending time on the water and creating lasting memories.

TX-Seahorse Charter fishes aboard a 19’ Carolina Skiff that accommodates up to 4 guests. Special 3-hour trips for two are also available on South Padre Island for $350, perfect for fitting in some action before lunch.

Guests should bring sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water. A fishing license is required and must be purchased separately before the trip.
