If you're in the market for a day to remember, welcome to Hope Floats Adventures & Charters. Your guide for the day is Captain 'H', allowing you to benefit from years of angling experience.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Black Drum, Flounder, Kingfish, Pompano, Redfish, Shark, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, Speckled Trout, Tarpon, Whiting, and plenty more.
You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Hector also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites to keep their stamina going!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 19' Action Craft Coastal Bay center console with capacity for 6 passengers. It has all the essentials. What's more, this marina is wheelchair accessible. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you. Live bait is included as available, but it's good to ask so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Some charters will include a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It's recommended to bring sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). There will be some ice and water on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid glass bottles. There will be some light snacks provided on 5 hour trips!

Captain was amazing!

I have four children aging 4 to 12 all wanting to do different things, including fishing and sightseeing. The weather was slightly chilly and rainy on the day that we went out, but the captain made sure that we were all comfortable. The captain had snacks and drinks for all the kids and my son even caught a stingray! He went above and beyond to make sure the kids were comfortable and had a great time! He was very easy-going and accommodating! Can’t wait to go back out with him on a sunny/warmer day. Definitely recommend for a family outing!! Recommend without hesitation!!

From Boat to Plate: Unforgettable Fishing Experience

Did this charter with Captain Hector for a bachelor party and it was an absolute blast. I knew we’d have fun, but I honestly didn’t expect it to be such a premium 5 star experience.
Hector is the man! Fun, super knowledgeable, and just an all-around awesome guy. He made sure everyone was having a great time the whole trip.
We caught around 10 fish and somehow everyone in our group caught at least one, even the beginners. Hector filleted our fish right there and then dropped us off directly at Aunt Kate’s, where they cooked our catches. Eating our fresh catches was so cool—and it tasted incredible.
All-around amazing day on the water. I’m already counting the days until I can do this again. Can’t recommend Captain Hector enough for beginners or pros.

We had an absolutely amazing time with Hope Floats Adventures & Charters in St. Augustine, FL on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. This inshore sea fishing trip was a highlight of our visit—especially for my father, who was experiencing both Florida and saltwater fishing for the first time.
Captain Hector and his First Mate, Rev, were outstanding. They were not only friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly welcoming, but also patient and accommodating throughout the entire trip. From start to finish, they made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves.
The boat was spacious and clean, more than enough room for the crew and the three of us. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary ice water and snacks—a thoughtful touch that made the trip even more enjoyable under the Florida sun.
We caught around 30 fish, representing about 10 different species, which kept the excitement going the entire time. The experience was both fun and educational, and it was clear that Captain Hector and Rev love what they do.
We’re incredibly grateful for the hospitality and effort they put into making the trip so special. If you're looking for a fun, relaxing, and rewarding fishing adventure, I highly recommend Hope Floats Adventures & Charters. I know I’ll be booking with them again the next time I'm back in St. Augustine, Florida.

Its January in Florida. The weather is what the weather wants to be. But that didn’t stop an amazing time from going into the intercoastal, the jetty and a sandbar! Hector is a fun captain full of knowledge. I grew up in a landlocked state so new to the saltwater fishing concept. He’s a great teacher. Looking foward to a warm weather trip and sharing adaptive ways to get more people out there!!!

What a great fishing trip! Capt Hector is great! We fished in many different locations. He gave us his knowledge of the ocean, tides and fish. He is super friendly and patient. we caught 20 fish-catfish, whiting, blacktail & bottlehead sharks. We saw schools of dolphins, manatee and plenty of herrons, sea gulls, and a bald eagle. An awesome experience!
