Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself light tackle fishing, popping, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Children are welcome, so get 'em offline and onto the water! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are never a bad idea to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
Your day begins aboard a 30' Contender center console that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, along with lures. Live bait is included, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, a hat, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
