Your trip begins aboard a 26' Starline Chile fishing boat that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with a fighting chair, and all the essentials. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures.
You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't leave home without a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. My wife and I booked an half-day excursion to try to catch big games ! Unfortunately, we didn't have any hit. Nada ! :-( I'm sure the Captain tried everything and covered a lot of territory and he looked really sorry for us. Be prepared to be shaken and even wet because the sea could be really choppy. But the beauty of Rapa Nui from the sea is worth the trip. If I ever return there, I will contact Atamu to try again for sure.
