There's a fish with your name on it in Barnegat Light NJ on Long Beach Island, and South Jersey Fishing Charters will help you catch it! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Tom or Captain Eddy can tell you all about them.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Tautog, Black Seabass, Flounder, Gray Triggerfish, Striped Bass, Scup (Porgy), Common Ling, Bluefish, Cod, Pollock, and anything else that bites. You can expect to do some spinning, popping, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Also remember to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
Your excursion begins aboard a 58' Fyffe walkaround custom vessel, that can carry up to 30 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. There's a bathroom on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures and bait. Live bait is provided at certain times of the season.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 20% tip.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
Don't forget to bring bottled water, sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Beer and wine inly are up allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
