Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Sailfish, Striped Marlin, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, and whatever else takes the bait. On these trips, it's common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.

You'll find yourself aboard a 38' Blackfin sportfishing boat with capacity for 10 passengers. It comes with a fighting chair, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.

You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

You can't go wrong when you bring sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks included on board.
