Stamp River Sportfishing 

Stamp River Sportfishing is your ticket to the stunning waters of Port Alberni. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Josh knows them forwards and back.

Species like Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Cutthroat Trout, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), and more inhabit these waters if you cast your line at the right time of year. For these fish, you're likely to drift using light tackle. Capt. Josh also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.

Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks!

You'll be fishing aboard a 19' Alumaweld fishing boat that can carry up to 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Capt. Josh will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

A few items to bring include sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
