Spend the day with Ariel Medero and get hooked on fishing in Marathon! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Ariel can tell you all about them.
Amberjack, Great Barracuda, Sailfish, Black Grouper, Hogfish, Mahi Mahi, Red Grouper, Cobia, and more are in the cards, depending on when you go. Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself spinning, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Ariel can also show you kite fishing.
Capt. Ariel is happy to have kids aboard, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. You're welcome to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
Your adventure begins aboard a 34' SeaVee center console with room for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, and all the essentials. What's more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It's recommended to bring sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

I've fished at least 2 to 3 times a year with Ariel for the last 15 years. I've never even considered fishing with anyone else and never will. He's always works very hard to put me on fish and he has always produced fish for me. If you want a professional who will take care of you and do what is needed to catch fish, Ariel and Big Game are it!
Ariel is a local to marathon and knows the water better than most. He always finds the fish! I have been fishing with him for many years and I’ve never been disappointed. He runs a tight ship and is as professional as they come, you will not be disappointed.
The fishing trip along with the crew was top notch!
