Geaux Fishing Charters is your ticket to the stunning waters of Grand Isle. Your guide for the day is Captain T, offering their sportfishing experience.
Amberjack, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Flounder, Gag Grouper, Almaco Jack, Pompano, Redfish, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, Speckled Trout, and more could be biting if you come at the right time of year. You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Trampus also offers Flounder gigging. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing.
Your excursion begins aboard a 26' Twin Vee catamaran with space for 6 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Your trip with Geaux Fishing Charters is just a click away, so why not make it happen?

We had a really terrific fishing experience with Captain T. In mid-March, we set out from Grand Isle to fish for sheepshead. Captain T and his first mate were waiting for us at the marina with a warm welcome and live shrimp. Because it was foggy and windy, we spent the first hour fishing for speckled trout behind the island, but as soon as conditions improved, we headed off-shore to one of the old oil rigs that is the Captain’s sheepshead spot. (He goes to other rigs for mangrove snapper and red snapper.) . It was located close to shore, so we got there quick and got our lines in the water. It was one of the best fishing days we’ve had – my son and I hauled in 30 sheepshead in the five hours or so that we were there, as well as one mangrove snapper and a few spadefish. They sheepshead were big—most of them over 15”—and they had lots of great fight in them! There’s no limit in Louisiana, but we caught so many that we released the last couple. When we got back to the marina, the first met filleted them for us so we could bring them home and vacuum pack them for the freezer. The fishing was incredible, but a good guide makes all the difference. Captain T knew right where to go, and the first mate kept our hooks baited. When we broke a line, they got a new hook on right away. We almost always had our lines in the water. Captain T also gave us some great tips for catching the sheepies. They have a very hard mouth, and they chew the bait rather than swallowing it, so you fish them a little differently than redfish or trout. Captain T embodies an island vibe—he is super friendly and laid back, you’re not just a customer to him. He’s also a genuinely good person. When we had to call a mechanic out from New Orleans to fix our car, he loaned us his golf cart for the evening so we didn’t have to walk to the supermarket and restaurant. We’re excited to go back and fish with Captain T again—snapper season opens in May!
Captain Trampus is one of the best captains I’ve ever fished with easy-going very knowledgeable and friendly. we had to go back early because we caught so many fish we couldn’t hold anymore on the boat. seriously first world problems.👍 Eli our deckhand make sure our line never was without bait and was in a hurry to unhook the fish and get us back to fishing ASAP every time 👏 He even gave us history lessons on john la feit
Unfortunately the trip wasn’t offshore as intended due to weather but the charter service was able to swap us to inshore. Fishing wasn’t the greatest that day due to that weather, but our captain was able to still find us some good spots to catch a few. Captain was very knowledgeable of the area and was very helpful.

limited out on red snapper. caught bonita, cobia, and mangrove snapper. Captain Trampus is FISH ON!

The charter operator canceled 2 days prior to the trip date. This is an automated posting.
Hello!, I'm Captain T, Your Fishing Adventure Expert I have all the credentials you want to see in a charter captain. But the thing about me is I absolutely LOVE seeing people light up when they catch their first fish... or the biggest fish they've ever caught... or a kid experiencing fishing for the first time. I'm in this business to share my love and passion for fishing with you and hopefully pass that along to all my customers.
