Approach Angling Company

Yellowstone National Park has a fish with your name on it, so let Approach Angling Company help you catch it!

Top targets include Cutthroat Trout, Brown Trout, Lake Trout, and more, depending on the time of year.

Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. John also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.

Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!

Capt. John runs a 17' Skiff with room for 2 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water.

Rods and reels are not supplied for you, so ask the captain about bringing your own or renting some for an extra cost. Be sure to ask about bait and lures as well.

You might need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

It's recommended to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. Lunch is provided, just reach out to learn more, especially if you have any dietary needs.

Approach Angling Company will make it easy for you to go fishing in Yellowstone National Park. So, how about booking that trip?
