If you're ready to try fishing in Gainesville, we've got you covered with North Georgia Striper Hunters. Having logged many hours on these tides, your Captain is prepared to put you on fish.
These waters are known for White Bass, Striped Bass, Crappie, Alligator Gar, Largemouth Bass, Spotted Bass, Catfish, and more – with any luck, it won't take long to hook into some. Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself spinning, trolling, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Don't forget to bring snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
Your adventure begins aboard a 25' Veer center console that can carry up to 5 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

I recommend Captain Trevor and his experience! Our trip was for my son's 14th birthday and consisted of five of us, incuding myself and his friends. While I haven't been on too many of these trips I can compare the experience with, there were a few positive things that stood out. 1. Captain Trevor was very timely. We arrived at 6:30, left the dock by 6:40 and were fishing at 7. Our fishing lasted right up until Noon giving us the full five hours to fish which I really appreciated. We got back to the dock at about 12:20 pm. Other opions were only four hours. 2. Captain Trevor was very knowlegable about the lake, types of fish we might catch and gave us the option of fishing to keep or sport fishing. We chose the latter. He also provided live bait we used (herring) and had more than enough to last our full trip. This was one of the reasons I chose this captain. A past trip with a different guide required us to purchase live bait which added considerably to the cost. 3. Our captain was an experienced guide, very patient, good at teaching us, and personable. He was passionate about fishing and it showed! The boat had a very nice fish finder and trolling motor set up. When I asked my son and his friends about any negative things about the trip, they all thought we stayed in each spot longer than we should have. Captain was very clear that he didn't want to make our outing " a boat ride", and I can appreciate not moving around the lake unnecessarily, but I think we could have moved around a bit more given our limited catch. Captain was also vocal about his traditional political opinions which I support, but, some with opposing viewpoints may not feel very comfortable or welcome. All things considered, the outing was great time and I would book again with Captain Trevor.

We had an absolutely fantastic day on the water with our guide. From the moment we stepped on the boat, everything was dialed in, great communication, top-notch equipment, and a clear plan to get us on fish. What stood out the most was how great he was with the kids. He was patient, encouraging, and made sure they were involved in every part of the experience. You can tell he genuinely enjoys teaching and sharing his knowledge, not just putting clients on fish. That made a huge difference for us. And the fishing did not disappoint. We were on fish consistently throughout the trip and landed a great mix, including some really solid striped bass and largemouth. The kids were fired up the entire time and are still talking about it. The boat was clean, well-organized, and safe, and the guide made everything easy, from baiting hooks to handling fish and making sure we got great photos to remember the day. If you’re looking for a guide who knows the water, works hard, and makes the trip fun for both adults and kids, I can’t recommend him enough. We’ll definitely be booking again.
We had an awesome experience with this fishing charter! 🎣 Me, my friends, and my family all went out together and had an amazing time. We caught a lot of fish and learned a lot while we were out there. The captain was very knowledgeable and shared tips that helped us understand more about fishing and how everything works. He kept us out fishing longer than most guides and really made sure we had every chance to catch fish. One thing we really liked was that while we were waiting on the downriggers, he let us throw lures so we could keep fishing instead of just sitting around. He also provided snacks and drinks, which made the trip even more comfortable. The whole experience was relaxed, fun, and very welcoming for everyone in our group. We all felt comfortable the entire time. If you’re looking for a great fishing trip with someone who knows what they’re doing and wants you to have a good time and learn something, this is definitely the charter to book. We’ll definitely be back!

As a returning customer, I can confidently say the captain truly knows his craft. Every trip is well-planned, exciting, and incredibly productive. We had an amazing time on the water, caught plenty of fish, and came home with coolers full of fresh catches. The summer heat can be intense, so if you’re bringing little ones along, be sure to pack a portable fan to keep them comfortable. We can’t wait for our next trip!
We fished the day after a full moon and fishing was tough. I had told the Captain that catching a striped bass was a bucket lisf item and that I had failed to catch one on previous attempts. He worked an extra hour and a half to l put me on a 28" almost 12lb striper That is the epitome of above and beyond. Ted Strecker
