Spend the day with Tied Down and get hooked on fishing in Wanchese! With Captain Jake at the helm, you'll benefit from years of knowledge and experience. He is a 4th generation Outer Banks fisherman who has grown up running boats in the waters surrounding Roanoke Island all his life.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Flounder, Spotted Seatrout, Sheepshead, Redfish, and anything else that bites.
On the day of your trip you're likely to cast jigs, popping corks, troll spoons, or soak cut bait.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! You're welcome to bring snacks and any drinks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
Capt. Jake welcomes you aboard his newly restored 24' Privateer that can carry up to 4 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water.
You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
Don't leave home without sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Our North Carolina fishing trip will be Jake really allowed our kids to be hands-on, "take the reel" so to speak! By the end of our trip, they were doing it all on their own. We have had experiences with other fishing companies in the area, and I can tell you that if you want hands-on fishing, this is it! Others did most the work for us not letting us pull our line in or unhook our fish. Had we not done this tour with Jake we wouldn't have gotten the full experience. Jake was patient with teaching us the ropes! His boat is smaller than some of the other charters but dont let that deter you. To be honest the vibes just hit different...felt like he invited us to hang out on his boat with him, sun was warm, fish were bitting, jokes were made, and the music perfect!

Jake took us in the sound and the ocean looking for the fish. We had a great time running around on his boat. It’s a super comfortable ride and he put us on the fish! We caught and released two big drum and bunch more.
Jake was great. Put us on the fish and was educational. We caught a ton of blues and had a great time doing it. He’s easy going and easy to hangout with.
Went fishing with Captain Jake last summer and it was awesome! He is super knowledgeable when it comes to inshore and nearshore fishing and the history of the Outer Banks. We ended up catching some nice sized drum. His first mate Banks is also super sweet, well behaved, and great with kids! We will be going again this summer for sure!
