From Baker Lake to Lake Wenatchee Sockeye, Captain Isaiah has logged many hours on these lakes and can tell you all about the local fishery. Baker Lake sockeye season for 2026 opens on July 11, with a 4-fish limit, and he will be fishing there throughout the month of July. Then, he will transition to Lake Wenatchee for the month of August!
Sockeye salmon is the targeted species. On the day of your trip, you'll likely be trolling using light tackle.
Capt. Isaiah will welcome you aboard a 22' aluminum fishing boat with room for up to 4 passengers. The boat comes equipped with downriggers and everything you need for a productive day on the water. You'll find rods, reels, tackle, and lures waiting for you.
Before coming aboard, everyone in your group is required to purchase a local fishing license. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain for guidance. Some species may be protected or require a tag to keep, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't forget to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and non-spray sunscreen. If you'd like to bring other drinks, feel free to do so! Alcohol is allowed in moderation; however, hard liquor and glass bottles are not permitted.

Tough day for everyone, with the 400 or so boats we saw in the morning out on the lake with us we saw 2 fish landed. Most gave up around 9 or 10am. we had 4 hook ups from 6-930am but lost all 4 :/ we continued and hooked up 2 more and lost them around 10am or so. I think my buddy and i wanted to call it but our guide didnt seem to have any aspirations to give up and we didnt want to admit defeat so he kept us going. About 1130am with the temp about 93 at this point I hooked up and stopped being as eager to yank the fish in and let him take line. while I as reeling in my buddy got one and did the same and we landed both. Without sunblock that we forgot that morning and with my fair skinned buddy burning we decided to call it and were happy to land 2 of the 4 fish we saw landed that day.
