We’ll be targeting Walleye in the lake, widely regarded as one of the best Walleye fisheries in the world, with an estimated 90 million catchable fish. Depending on conditions, you may also hook into other species and other surprises that take the bait.
Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, trolling, jigging, or using more specialized techniques unique to this area.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life jackets, so be sure to confirm that the appropriate sizes are available on board. And, of course, bringing snacks is always a great idea to help maintain your energy throughout the trip!
Captain Shane operates a 20-foot Ranger 620 VS sportfishing boat that accommodates up to three guests. The boat is equipped with downriggers, planer boards, and all the trolling gear needed for a productive day on the water.
Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures and live bait. Setting lines is taken care of by the captain, but when a fish is on… you’re the one holding the rod!
Before coming aboard, you may need to purchase a local fishing license for everyone in your group between the ages of 18 and 64. Licenses are available online. If you are only purchasing a license for the day of the charter, I recommend waiting until you’ve spoken with the captain the evening before. A Sportsman Ontario Fishing License is recommended if you are interested in keeping a limit of six walleye per person.
It’s recommended that you bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and bottled water. If you’d like to bring other non-alcoholic drinks, by all means. Alcohol is not permitted.
