Fishing Al Gusto 

We started at 6:30AM and had an absolute blast with our crew. They were on time, prepared, ready to go, easy to find and most of all they are experienced fisherman. We have been on multiple fishing experiences in Cancun/playa/isla/Cozumel and this was by far the most fun we had. We purchased the 6 hour excursion and toward the end requested an extra hour. So we fished for a total of 7 hours. This includes the snorkeling at a reef that you shouldn’t miss. It wasn’t crowded and for a private fishing cruise and snorkeling it is completely worth it. We ended up snorkeling for around 1 hour unassisted and just got explore. It was fantastic. While we snorkeled they prepared the 2 fish we had caught (Mahi mahi) into ceviche and filets. We ate the ceviche right on the boat and then fished our way back. We only caught the two mahi mahi but it was so fun. The capitán and fisherman were joking with us and each other. The environment was so fun. The water was calm and warm the entire trip. We saw dolphins and turtles while trolling/fishing and at the reef we saw everything. If I could upload videos I would. I took a video of two stingrays eating the fish spines after they had been cleaned and it was so cool! They were so close and I even touched one of them as it glided past. What an experience for my wife and I. We come back each year in June/July and this will be our very first stop the next time we come to Mexico. Thank you thank you thank you. We loved this experience!

We today had the pleasure of going on a fishing charter trip with the two captains named Carlos, and it was an experience that we will never forget. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome and a sense of professionalism that made us feel comfortable and confident in our fishing abilities. The day was full of excitement, as we were lucky enough to catch not one, but two marlins! The captains were knowledgeable and skilled, and their expertise was evident throughout the entire trip. They made sure that we had everything we needed, and they were always willing to answer any questions we had about the fishing process. One of the highlights of the day was when the captains prepared shashimi for us while we were snorkeling. While snorkeling we saw two huge stingray and a lot of tropical fish. The shashimi was a delicious and refreshing treat that perfectly complemented the beautiful scenery and relaxed atmosphere of the day. What really set this experience apart, however, was the charisma and fun-loving nature of the captains. They were not only professional, but also incredibly personable and entertaining. They made the day feel like a true adventure, and their positive energy was contagious. Overall, I would highly recommend this fishing charter trip to anyone looking for an amazing day at sea. The captains, both named Carlos, were exceptional hosts and skilled fishermen, and their passion for their work was evident in every aspect of the trip. Whether you are an experienced angler or just looking to try something new, this is an experience that should not be missed!

Carlos and Octavio were great and put us on some Mahi Mahi within 20 minutes into our trip. We landed 5 of 6. I know we have to leave a tip, but after the tip was given they gave you that look like they were expecting more. Also it would be great if they could recommend somewhere to take your catch and cook it for you since most hotels won't cook uncertified fish.

Enjoyed my time with the captain and 1st mate as they did everything possible to find the fish … we trolled first then drifted to catch some trigger fish and then had a massive fight with a huge fish .. unfortunately turned out to be a stingray … but could have been a grouper or king!! Still had a blast and I’d do it again tomorrow if I could. One suggestion is bring a seat cushion as the boat can be tough on the rump if a bit rough out there .. and there is no bathroom so prepare to get wet! Overall a great time and can’t wait till next year!

We had an incredible day with Miguel and Omar of Al Gusto Fishing. We caught some amazing fish, enjoyed some great snorkeling, and they made us delicious ceviche with some of our catch. They were super friendly and helpful. Highly reccomend!

We had a great time on our 4 hour trip. So good that we extended an extra hour because the fish were biting. Spent the first hour trolling to try and get a Batracuda, got on top of some Sailfish but they wouldn’t bite. Then set up in 90 feet of water to do some jigging and caught over 20 fish. Some nice size Yellowfin snappers, White snapper, Triggers, a Queen Trigger, a Banana fish and more.

Carlos and Carlos took us out on a 6 hour trip today! We were able to catch a monster barracuda, a shark, and another barracuda. At the end of the trip we snorkeled for awhile and had the best time. They were enjoyable to work with and really know what they are doing! I highly highly recommend them.

Just some minutes after leaving the beach, we hooked the first fish. I wanted to try with my fly rod and some minutes later I caught my first bonito on the fly. We had crazy fishing for more than three hours and totally caught more than 30 bonitos, 13 on my fly rod. Last hour we took one of the bonitos and did some bottom fishing. After some few minutes we hooked a really nice amber jack. 20 minutes of hard workout to get the fish in the boat. What a day!! Really nice crew with the experience and knowledge to put you on the right spot. If you easily get sea sick, this trip ain’t for you. Looking forward to to fish with the crew again!!

Captain Carlos and first Mate Omar were 100% dedicated to making this fishing trip a memorable one. It was a nice,.sunny clear day. We started the 4 hour trip with captain Carlos setting up 5 lines for trolling and the trolling for about 2.5 hours of but didn't get any bites. The sargassum was unfortunately sticking to the rig, and we didn't get any action. After that, we decided to do some bottom fishing. Captain Carlos setup the rigs in two lines for bottom fishing and lady luck hit our side. My father pulled in three red/queen snapper during his first attempt! He had never been fishing. My wife caught two on one line as well. We ended up getting 12 red/queen snapper total in about an hour if bottom fishing! They worked tirelessly switching rigs and baiting/hooking the lines for us. I couldn't recommend a better crew, these guys did their best to make sure we didn't go home empty handed. Thank you gentlemen for the memories!

We arrived a little late, Captain and first mate were very polite, easy to talk to and helpful, they explained things for any questions we had. We had a ton of fun, not as much luck with trolling (only the 1barracuda) but deep sea fishing was hot. We dipped in the ocean for a bit, seeing sting rays, turtles and a variety of fish. Good day, for the price and awesome service we’d go ahead with Al Gusto fishing excursions.
