i really liked the Captain and First mate. both worked very hard to find fish, hook fish, and lamd them. they took care lf my 85 year oñd dad as well. made sashimi with a dorado we caught. love it when the crew gets excited when we get in the fish

The trip was one of the "should have been here yesterday" or even should have been here this morning that nearly all of us have experienced. High pressure system moved through mid-day and picked up the chop and killed the fishing. The morning trips were still cleaning bunches of mahi and tuna when we arrived for the trip, but there was not a single fish at the cleaning tables when we returned :( However, the captain and Jose fished as hard as they could have. We tried live bait sets and chum at three spots to see if there were tuna or mahi. Then we drove almost all the way to Cabo San Lucas to try another spot. Nothing... Then we put on a 5-line trolling set (2 ballyhoo) and trolled all the way back from CSL to SJDC looking for a marlin or big mahi. Basically we tried everything one might expect and just got skunked. The effort and efficiency were there though.

I normally do not write reviews but feel like it is obliggation to warn others. I had booked a 35’ sport with Dalikan Fishing looks like they have many boats and dominate the marina there. After I booked I was notified a day later that there was a mix up on their end and that boat had already been spoken for. They told me however that they would take care of me and put me into something just as nice but a little smaller 28’. I reluctantly agreed but should have gone with my experience and instincts. Upon arrival at check in they said they didn’t accept American Express but that is how I paid the deposit. He asked for cash so I once again reluctantly agreed. To my surprise the boat was about 50 years old and looked barely sea worthy. The boat had no electonics, depth or fish finder. It was really in poor condition. Even though I paid for live bait ($30)there was a total of 10 onboard. The max speed was 13 knots with the engine so loud I could not communicate with my wife the entire trip. 2 hours later we made it to the tuna fishing grounds which took other boats 30 minutes to get there. There were several boats that caught but it was played out just when we arrived. We did some drifting with the few live baits we had. I asked them to turn the motor off but said could not because maybe it would not start again. Then we turned around and drove back at 13 knots. We caught one small Dorado when we were almost back at the marina. Upon arrival someone took my fish, laid it in the sun and we were about to leave it after numerous texts to managers. Management told me that is fishing. Laughable. I have fished all around the world. Getting skunked has nothing to do with it. It is about having a fighting chance to begin with. Buyers Beware. You have been warned.

My son's favorite thing to do is fish and his wish was to catch a Marlin in Cabo. We caught not only one, but two, as well as a shark (released.) Thank you Captain Salvador and Jose for a great day in San Jose del Cabo. Marlin fishing was a once in a lifetime trip for us! In addition to a nice boat ride during beautiful weather, we saw dolphins, whales, & sea lions. We can't wait to come back and catch some mahi mahi with you next time. :)
