    (Half Day Trip)

    Great fishing experience!

We had an awesome trip with Capt. Bob Brown! He was extremely knowledgeable, easygoing, and knew exactly where to put us on the fish. We found fish at every stop, and even with storms moving through, Capt. Bob went above and beyond by extending our trip and making sure we got hooked up. You can tell he genuinely cares about his clients having a great experience. We had a great time and will definitely be coming back to fish with Capt. Bob again. Highly recommend him! 🎣👍

    (Half Day Trip (AM))

    Awesome fishing trip!

Overall it was a great experience. there were a few hiccups early on but Captain Bart more than made up for it. He helped my son with all aspects of fishing and by the end of the trip he was baiting his own line. We caught more fish than we could count including 3 different types of sharks! We also left with some filets to have for lunch. Would highly recommend Captain Bart for your next fishing charter.

Black Drum are powerful inshore fish known for hard pulls and tasty fillets from smaller fish. Anglers target them for steady action around structure and for the chance to hook a real heavyweight. They use whisker-like barbels to find food and can make a croaking sound, which adds to the thrill of Black Drum fishing.

You can catch them with bottom fishing around jetties, bridges, oysters, and channels. Natural bait works best. Try cracked crab, shrimp, or clams on a simple rig near the bottom. Let the bait sit and use scent to draw bites. If you like lures, bounce a jig or soft plastic slowly along the bottom.

Expect a patient, steady style of fishing with sudden, bulldog runs. This is great for first-timers, families, and seasoned anglers who enjoy a solid fight. Medium or heavy tackle with abrasion-resistant leader helps around rocks and shells. Circle hooks make clean hookups and easy releases. Bring sun protection, water, a hat, and non-marking shoes. Your captain or guide will provide the rest, including bait and tackle, on most trips.

Rules for Black Drum vary by location and can change. Before you go, check your local fishing license and permit needs. Review current season dates, harvest rules, and size or bag limits for your area. When in doubt, ask your captain or local authorities to make sure you are fishing within the law.
