Bonefish are fast, wary, and built for the flats. In Bermuda, anglers chase them for thrilling sight fishing in clear, shallow water. Sheltered sounds and sandy bays give you calm conditions and great visibility.
Most anglers target Bonefish by fly fishing or light tackle spinning. Small shrimp or crab patterns work well. Your captain will pole the skiff so you can spot fish and make a quick, accurate cast. Move quietly, use long leaders, and lead the fish.
Charter trips usually run a half or full day on inshore flats. You will stand on a stable skiff and stalk fish in knee‑deep water. This suits patient beginners and seasoned fly anglers alike. Bring polarized sunglasses, sun protection, and quick‑dry clothes. Non‑marking shoes help you grip the deck. Captains provide tackle, or bring your own 7–9 weight fly rod.
Bermuda’s best Bonefish habitat includes the Great Sound and its western bays, Castle Harbour and nearby flats, Harrington Sound’s sheltered edges, and the North Shore lagoon. These areas offer clean water, turtlegrass beds, and broad sand patches where Bonefish feed on tide changes.

Inshore fishing fun!
We did a 4 hour inshore trip with Alex & Callum. They were absolutely great! We caught about 50 snapper & a few bonefish. It was so much fun to have a lot of action. Alex even cleaned the fish & cut into filets for us to take next door to a local restaurant where they cooked them for us for lunch. Incredible! The guys are very knowledgeable & friendly. It was a great experience. Highly recommend Rum Pirate fishing!

Awesome experience
Had a great time with Captain Russell and crew Kosh. Russell worked very hard to put us on some fish, we landed three species, would do again 10/10. Bonefish Grill cooked our catch, $25 per plate with soup and sides

excellent trip, excellent crew
This was the first time I chartered a fishing trip. While it was later in the season, we were still able to get some impressive fish. The crew was fun to talk to between catches and fishing spots. I will definitely be using them again the next time I go fishing.

Barracuda + Yellowfin Tuna
My husband and I had a most wonderful time with Captain Russell and Ziggy hosting us. Caught 2x barracuda, lots of bait, and closed with a beautiful large yellowfin. Thanks for the memories!
