These trips give you the chance to sample big game fishing from Kailua-Kona, and while you will not have as much time to hook a Marlin as you would on full day trips, you will be able to troll for exciting big game species such as Mahi Mahi and Tuna. Non-resident marine fishing license is required.

A 4-hour charter in Kona is typically enough time to get into some solid fishing. We usually troll lures to cover more ground and increase our chances of bites. If we find bait, we may switch techniques, but time is limited so we stay efficient. We consistently catch fish on these trips, targeting mahi-mahi, tuna, ono (wahoo), spearfish, and sometimes billfish, along with other table fish when conditions allow.

One of the great advantages of fishing in Kona is that deep waters are located just a short distance from shore. Even on a 4-hour trip, you have a real chance of landing the fish of a lifetime—whether it's Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Ono, or even a trophy Marlin. Please note that target species vary throughout the year. A 6-hour 3/4 day fishing trip along the Kona Coast targeting a variety of pelagic species. These trips can be customized based on seasonal conditions and what is actively biting in the area at the time. We primarily use trolling techniques, with the option to include bottom fishing if requested in advance. A flexible and action-focused experience designed to maximize your time on the water.

Our goal is to be the first out of the harbor and in the hottest fishing spots before anyone else has left the harbor. While the fish feed all day, it's nice to be the first to put a lure in front of them. We will use various methods of fishing including trolling, artificial and real bait along with dropping live bait (tbd if live bait is available). We will consult with EVERY charter prior to departure to determine what each guests goals are.
