    Epic Hat Trick Hookup 08-14-26

    Half Day Trip1 adult

Before booking this trip I did a bit of homework. I checked many boats and this one had a lot of positive reviews. Price is average among other boats but knowledge is priceless. Trip does not include a license or bait which is a must have. I originally booked a half day trip solo and ended up on a full day. Ths was my very first time in Cabo and I was targeting Mahi Mahi or Marlin. I haven't fished deep sea for over 25 years. My experience is a avid angler. Fished off one day charters from San Diego into Ensenada Mexican waters. My personsl best was a 35lb. Dorafo and 45lb. Bluefin. In shortt, hooked up 3 Striped Marlin and landed 2. This boat is very experienced. They can find and get you on fish quickly. Be prepared to get soaked and physically challenged if hooked on. This was an Epic Trip! Thanks captain! Will be back again! - Ceazar (Pasadena CA.)

    BEST Fishing and Trip Ever!

    Full Day Trip3 adults

We had an absolutely incredible day aboard the Ursula IV! We've been on more than 15 fishing charters in places like Punta Cana, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Hawaii, Boston, Marco Island, Key West and other destinations, and this was hands down the best fishing trip we've ever experienced. Captain Manuel and mate Miguel were outstanding. Their knowledge, experience, and work ethic were obvious from the moment we left the marina. Within about 10 minutes we were already catching bonito for bait. Our first tuna spot had a lot of boats, but instead of waiting around, Captain Manuel made the decision to move. It turned out to be the perfect call, we were immediately hooked up to a monster 110 lb yellowfin tuna! Throughout the day, the crew never stopped working. Miguel was constantly preparing bait, ensurng multiple lines were out, and doing everything possible to keep the action going. The fishing was unbelievable. We landed three yellowfin tuna weighing approximately 110 lbs, 130 lbs, and 50 lb., caught several bonito, a 120 lb striped marlin, and on the ride back to the marina, Captain Manuel said he thought we still had a chance at a wahoo. Sure enough, he was right! We finished the day with an approximately 30 lb wahoo. It was truly one of those fishing trips you'll remember forever. A couple of tips for future guests: If there's any chance of bad weather, wait until your trip is confirmed before purchasing your fishing licenses, since the Port Captain can close the harbor for safety and trips may need to be rescheduled. Not the Charter's fault! They do not have any control over this. Also, be prepared to pay ~$40 for live bait and ~$21 per persn for fishing licenses. Ask ahead of time about any additional costs so there are no surprises when you arrive. We can't recommend the Ursula IV enough. We would book with them again without hesitation!

    BEST day of fishing!!

    Full Day Trip7 adults1 child

This was our first deep sea fishing trip and it couldnt have been any better!! My husbabd and I and our 5 kids (ages 19,18,18,17 and 10) did the full day trip. We caught 3 Marlin, 1 Mahi Mahi and 1 Blue Wahoo! Manuel and Sammy were the best guides. We had an absolute blast and will definitely be back! We would highly recommend doing this trip! If you have anybody that gets motion sickness, I would take something the night before and morning of. Also bring extra pesos or usd for getting bait and fishing licenses. We also brought a cooler of drinks and sandwiches and snacks.

    Excellent!

    Full Day Trip2 adults

Ursula is the nicest boat I have been on out of all my times fishing in Cabo! Very clean (even to my wife's standards), quite comfortable and large enough for several people. But the best part is the crew. Captain Olter was so nice in the morning getting us started and then Emanuel & Sammy took us out for an amazing fishing day and my wife & I cought 21 fish! 60lb tuna, 50lb dorado, skip jack's, spanish makerel, etc. No marlin this time but I've had my share of them and I was toast after that big tuna! About a 25 min fight. Excellent crew, boat and day. I will never forget it and going again this November!

Excellent Crew and Experience All Around

    Full Day Trip2 adults

We had a great experience with this fishing crew! From the start, they listened to what we were looking for and worked toward the same goal. They were polite, respectful, incredibly knowledgeable, and impressively well-trained—quick to spot fish, get to them, and help us get them on the line. Their guidance throughout made everything smooth and exciting. They even took extra time to help us watch whales along the way, which was an unforgettable bonus. Truly an outstanding mix of skill, professionalism, genuine hospitality, and deep respect for the ocean. We couldn’t recommend them more!

What's biting with Ursula Fishing IV – 34’ Crystaliner in Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas News and excellent fishin

feb 24, 2026 • Cabo San Lucas
Geography vs. Headlines: Why Los Cabos is Business as Usual If you’ve been watching the news lately, you’ve likely seen the dramatic headlines coming out of mainland Mexico. High-profile security operations in states like Jalisco have led to travel alerts and flight disruptions in cities like Puerto Vallarta. For anyone sitting in an office up north planning their March getaway, it’s enough to make you reach for the "cancel" button. But here on the ground in Baja California Sur, the reality is a world apart. The unrest in mainland Mexico is a series of isolated incidents, tied to specific regional operations hundreds of miles away. B.C.S. has not been affected; in fact, it is business as usual. To understand why, you have to look at a map. We are separated from the mainland by the vast Sea of Cortez and protected by a geographic isolation that effectively makes us an island. Think about it this way: Would you cancel your long-awaited vacation to Key West because of violence in Minneapolis? Probably not. You’d recognize that they are different jurisdictions, different climates, and thousands of miles apart. The same logic applies here. By the Numbers: A Robust Spring Season The idea of canceling your Spring Break holiday in Los Cabos is not a realistic response to events happening an ocean away. The data from the local hospitality sector tells the true story: * Robust Occupancy: Local resorts are reporting strong reservations through the upcoming season, with average occupancy projected to hit 80% in March. * Sold Out Status: At least 12 major resorts in the Cabo San Lucas marina and Medano Beach zones are already reporting 100% capacity for the peak Spring Break weeks. * Massive Influx: We are preparing to welcome over 50,000 students, a significant increase over last year, proving that the confidence in our "Baja Island" remains unshakable. KT Insider: The Peninsula Perspective I’ve lived here since 2004, and I’ve seen this movie before. Every time there is a flare-up on the mainland, the "Mexico" label gets painted with a broad brush. But ask anyone who lives here: our daily life involves whale watching, checking the surf report, and navigating the usual highway traffic—not checking over our shoulders. The security model in Los Cabos is one of the most proactive in the country because our leaders know that tourism is our lifeblood. Comparing the current situation in Jalisco to a quiet afternoon in San José del Cabo is like comparing a thunderstorm in Chicago to a sunny day in Miami. If you have a flight booked, keep it. The whales are jumping, the sun is out, and the only thing you’ll be "sheltering" from is the 85-degree heat. Cap. Olter
