I love the freedom of the open water, a bit like riding a bike. I became a fisherman because I love challenges and being independent, I passionately don't like captivity and some workplace cultures. I have a trades background and can turn my hand to a lot of things. I like scuba and fee-diving more than fishing but save those for my hobbies.

There were 5 of us + Neil, we all had a great time and a good amount of success - we caught kingfish, blue cod, john dory and tarakihi. The weather was a little rough but we felt in safe hands, Neil took us to the best spots appropriate for the conditions. As Neil said, it's a fishing boat, not a fancy take your shoes off boat, so if you're prepared for that I'd highly recommend booking with Neil.

Things are going the right way now we have been catching most species we have had snapper tarakihi blue cod kingfish trevally gurnard amongst the catch the snapper havent really established themselves yet but they will we have had the most amazing weather these last few days one American family from Batton Ruge visiting I took out last week really enjoyed themselves catching fish non stop as they said a perfect end to their Wellington visit I like hearing comments like that

Start of the new season

Its been a windy springtime most days have been too rough to go but when we get out its good fishing and the weather will get better as summer comes on Im expecting a good season this year with kingfish snapper and tuna on our target list as well as groper. We have availability from January the kingi was caught on our last trip out and the other fish the trip previous

The fishing season is going well we are getting a good variety of fish now from groper to snapper and everything in between evening trips have been popular and snapper trevally tarakihi john dory kahawai all coming on as well as kingfish we got a couple of kingis on Sunday book us up for the new year I have lots of availability and good experiences to come
