    Great Trip

    5 Hour Trip • 4 adults

Business and crew were very accomodating alike…due to changing circumstances in our trip schedule we had to book last minute and they still stayed up late to process our fishing licenses and make our food and drink requests happen. The boat was extremelg well equipped with modern technology and music etc and was kept very clean. The crew worked hard to spot amd find fish and even manager to cook us a quality breakfast despite rough seas. We landed two Mahi and spotted two marlin but couldnt entice them to bite. overall great trip.

Bailey, Chris, Logan, Misty, Kade, Cresson, and Rylee enjoyed an eight-hour private sportfishing charter with Captain Alex while vacationing at Hotel Riu Palace Baja California in Cabo San Lucas. The seven-person group departed F Dock at IGY Marina at 9:00 AM and returned at 5:00 PM. Their reservation included a specialized dredge system, lunch for the passengers, Michelob Light, and additional limes. All five marlin were released, producing a 100% catch-and-release rate. For this group of seven, the 60-foot Bertram Blue Sea provided a spacious yacht for a full-day fishing experience. The guests were staying at Hotel Riu Palace Baja California and had arranged their fishing reservation with lunch and beverage preferences documented in advance. The eight-hour schedule allowed the group to enjoy the offshore experience before returning to IGY Marina during the late afternoon. The exact fishing grounds and individual strike times were not recorded. Marlin Cabo Fishing Report – Five Successful Releases Marlin are among the most sought-after offshore game fish around Cabo San Lucas. Their powerful runs, impressive size, and challenging fights make them a major attraction for visiting sportfishing enthusiasts. The southern Baja California peninsula offers opportunities to encounter different marlin species during the year. The original charter record identifies the catch as marlin but does not confirm whether they were striped, blue, or black marlin. Every recorded fish was released. This outstanding result highlights the importance of catch-and-release fishing for billfish conservation. Dredge Cabo Fishing Charter Report – Specialized Offshore Equipment The charter included a dredge system designed to imitate a concentrated school of baitfish beneath the surface. Dredges are used as part of offshore trolling spreads to attract predators and create visual activity around fishing presentations. Effective dredge fishing involves careful attention to trolling speed, teaser positioning, baitfish activity, and crew coordination. The reservation confirms that dredge equipment was included, but the successful bait or lure was not documented. Blue Sea Cabo Fishing Charter – Guests from Texas-Associated Regions Chris and Misty coordinated the reservation for their group, which also included Bailey, Logan, Kade, Cresson, and Rylee. The guests' telephone area codes are associated with western and north-central Texas, including Midland-Odessa and Fort Worth. These associations do not establish their verified residences. The group's accommodation at Hotel Riu Palace Baja California was separate from the charter departure location at F Dock, IGY Marina. The combination of a larger private yacht, an eight-hour schedule, included lunch, and specialized fishing equipment provided a well-organized setting for their offshore adventure. Departing F Dock at IGY Marina at 6:00 AM, Captain Luis and the crew headed into Pacific waters toward San Jaime Bank, one of Cabo San Lucas's established offshore fishing destinations. Located offshore from Cabo San Lucas, the bank attracts a variety of pelagic game fish, including yellowfin tuna, dorado, marlin and wahoo. The day's recorded catch was one wahoo, a highly respected offshore predator known for exceptional speed and aggressive feeding behavior. Wahoo are particularly exciting targets because of their rapid strikes and powerful initial runs. Landing one requires coordinated work between the angler and crew. Private Cabo Fishing Yacht Charter With Chef Services Curtis's group enjoyed an upgraded charter experience that combined offshore sportfishing with personalized onboard hospitality. The 43-foot Riviera Blue Sky provided ample fishing space, professional equipment, dredge gear and onboard Wi-Fi. Private chef services were also arranged, featuring chicken and fish selections prepared according to the group's preferences. Cabo Fishing Report – October 5, 2026 – 1 Sailfish Released 60' Bertram – Blue Sea – Captain David – 10-Hour Charter – 3 Anglers – 1 Sailfish Released October 5, 2026 – 1 Pacific Sailfish Caught and Released After Hurricane Rachel – Cabo Fishing Report A ten-hour fishing expedition following Hurricane Rachel brought Philip, Nathan, and Jason aboard the 60-foot Bertram Blue Sea for a private offshore charter with Blue Sky Cabo Fishing Charter and Tours. The three anglers were staying at the Blue Sky Cabo Condo Villa in El Tezal, Cabo San Lucas. On Monday, October 5, 2026, Captain David departed F Dock at IGY Marina at 7:00 AM for an extended fishing excursion scheduled to conclude at 5:00 PM. The fishing record identifies the reef and 95 Spot among the areas associated with the trip. The day's documented result was one Pacific sailfish caught and released, representing a 100% release rate for the charter's recorded catch. Cabo Fishing Report - FISHING DATA SNAPSHOT Charter Details Fishing Results Guest Information Date: October 5, 2026 Catch: 1 Sailfish Anglers: 3 Boat: 60' Bertram Blue Sea Released: 1 Sailfish Guests: Philip, Nathan, Jason Captain: David Release Rate: 100% Accommodation: Blue Sky Cabo Condo Villa Duration: 10 Hours Fishing Area: Reef / 95 Spot Villa Location: El Tezal Departure: 7:00 AM Dredge: Included Lunch: Included Return: 5:00 PM Successful Bait: Not Recorded Afternoon Snack: Included Departure Dock: F Dock Retained Fish: None Recorded Charter: Private Marina: IGY Species: Pacific Sailfish Location: Cabo San Lucas Post-Hurricane Cabo Fishing Charter – Ten Hours Offshore The October 5 charter took place after Hurricane Rachel affected marine conditions around southern Baja California. For offshore fishing crews, the period following a tropical storm can require reassessing fishing locations, currents, water clarity, and sea conditions. Rather than reserving a shorter excursion, the three anglers selected a ten-hour charter aboard the Blue Sea. The longer schedule provided Captain David with additional flexibility to explore fishing grounds and adjust the day's fishing approach when conditions permitted. The reservation included specialized dredge equipment, lunch, and an afternoon snack. A dredge is an underwater trolling teaser designed to resemble a school of baitfish and attract offshore predators toward the fishing spread. Although the equipment was included, the original record does not confirm whether the dredge produced the sailfish hookup. The exact bait or lure, fish weight, and fight duration were not documented. Sailfish Cabo Fishing Report – Conservation on the Blue Sea Pacific sailfish are recognized for their prominent dorsal fins, elongated bills, and energetic fighting behavior. For many offshore anglers, encountering one of these billfish is a significant fishing achievement. The October 5 charter ended with the sailfish released rather than retained. Blue Sky Cabo Fishing Charter and Tours follows a billfish release policy for sailfish and marlin. The record confirms the release but does not specify the fish's estimated weight or the individual handling techniques used. The result contributes to the company's historical record of billfish encounters aboard the 60-foot Bertram Blue Sea. El Tezal Cabo Fishing Charter – Three Guests at the Blue Sky Cabo Condo Villa Philip, Nathan, and Jason were staying at the Blue Sky Cabo Condo Villa in El Tezal, a residential area of Cabo San Lucas. Their telephone area codes are associated with Utah, Colorado, and eastern Washington. These associations do not establish verified residential locations. The three guests participated in a private full-day fishing charter departing from F Dock at IGY Marina. Their booking included lunch and an afternoon snack, allowing the group to spend the scheduled ten hours offshore. The combination of villa accommodation, a large private Bertram sportfishing yacht, and an extended fishing schedule formed the basis of their October Cabo experience. September 29, 2026 – Sailfish Released and Wahoo Near Whale's Head Jeremy and Jodie brought their sons Jackson, age 10, and Toby, age 12, aboard the 43' Riviera Blue Sky for a five-hour family charter with Blue Sky Cabo Fishing and Tours on September 29. Visiting from Australia and staying at Esperanza, Auberge Collection, Team Australia found excellent action approximately two miles off Whale's Head with one sailfish successfully released and one wahoo. Cabo Charter Fishing Report – Trip Statistics and Catch Date: September 29, 2026 | Boat: 43' Riviera Blue Sky | Guests: 4 Charter: 5 Hours | Departure: 7:00 AM | Return: 12:00 PM Sailfish: 1 Released | Wahoo: 1 | Species: 2 Adults: 2 | Children: 2 | Team: Australia Location: Whale's Head | Distance Offshore: ~2 Miles Departure Dock: F Dock | Marina: IGY Marina, Cabo San Lucas Cabo Fishing Report Finds Productive Water Close to Shore The standout statistic from this trip was not simply the two species caught. It was where the action happened. Blue Sky found the fish approximately two miles off Whale's Head. For a family charter with two younger anglers, productive water that close to Cabo provides an important advantage. Less time running offshore means more of the five-hour charter can be spent actually fishing. Jeremy, Jodie, Jackson and Toby did not need a distant bank to encounter serious pelagic game fish. The sailfish delivered the billfish encounter. Sailfish are exceptionally fast predators and can produce dramatic surface runs and aerial displays during a fight. After Team Australia's encounter, the fish was successfully released back into Cabo waters. Cabo Charter Fish Action Adds a Fast Wahoo The second species brought a completely different fighting style. Wahoo are long, streamlined predators built for speed. Their initial acceleration after a strike can be explosive, making them one of the most exciting fish encountered around Cabo. Catching a wahoo and sailfish on the same five-hour family charter gave Jackson and Toby the opportunity to see two very different offshore species. The family aspect also made this trip stand out. Jeremy and Jodie were introducing their 10- and 12-year-old sons to Cabo fishing while visiting from Australia. The 43' Riviera gave all four family members a private platform for the morning, while the relatively short distance to the productive water kept the charter comfortable for the younger anglers. By the scheduled noon return, Team Australia had completed a five-hour Cabo fishing experience highlighted by one released billfish and one of the fastest game fish in the Pacific. September 29, 2026 – Marlin & Sailfish – 2 Billfish Released A strong six-hour Cabo charter aboard the 35' Riviera Blue Water put Dennis and his group of three anglers into two different billfish species on September 29. Captain Oscar found the productive water approximately two miles off Whale’s Head, where the group caught and released one marlin and one sailfish. Fishing Data Snapshot Date: Sept. 29, 2026 | Species: Marlin + Sailfish | Volume: 2 Billfish Boat: 35' Riviera Blue Water | Captain: Oscar | Guests: 3 Charter: 6 Hours | Departure: 7:30 AM | Return: 1:30 PM Marlin: 1 Released | Sailfish: 1 Released | Released: 2 of 2 Location: Whale’s Head | Distance: ~2 Miles Offshore | Technique: Trolling Equipment: Dredge | Departure: F Dock | Marina: IGY Marina Cabo Conditions – September 29 Water: ~87.8°F | Air: ~82°F AM → ~90°F Midday | Humidity: ~66% Wind: ~12 Knots SSW Early | Moon: Waning Gibbous | Illumination: ~91% Sunrise: ~6:10 AM | Sunset: ~6:08 PM | Season: Warm-Water Billfish The location of the bite was an important part of this charter. With only six hours available, Captain Oscar did not need to spend a large portion of the morning running toward distant offshore banks. Productive water was approximately two miles off Whale’s Head, allowing Blue Water to put the trolling spread to work relatively quickly. Dredge Fishing Outside Whale’s Head The dredge was incorporated into the trolling program to create a larger subsurface bait presentation behind Blue Water. Warm water approaching 88°F provided classic late-September conditions around the tip of Baja California Sur. Oscar concentrated on the nearby zone instead of running past water that was already showing potential. The marlin provided the first major billfish encounter. Once the fish committed to the presentation, the group experienced the fight before the crew worked the marlin alongside the Riviera. It was successfully released. The sailfish brought a different style of action. Sailfish are capable of quick acceleration, rapid direction changes and aerial displays, making them a very different opponent despite belonging to the same broader billfish category. That fish was also successfully released. Six Hours of Cabo Fishing The charter ran from 7:30 AM until 1:30 PM with three anglers aboard. One of the advantages on this particular morning was efficiency. Finding suitable water approximately two miles offshore meant more of the available charter window could be devoted to trolling and working the productive zone. Environmental conditions were firmly on the warm side. Water was approximately 87.8°F, morning air temperatures were in the low 80s and temperatures increased toward approximately 90°F later in the trip. The moon remained bright at roughly 91% illumination in its waning-gibbous phase, while early winds were around 12 knots from the south-southwest. Captain Oscar's decision to concentrate on the Whale’s Head area resulted in two distinct billfish encounters during a six-hour trip, with both fish returning to the water. Cabo Dorado Fishing Report – Multiple Dorado Aboard Blue Water September 22, 2026 – Multiple Dorado Caught Cody spent September 22 offshore aboard the 35-foot Riviera Blue Water with Captain Oscar, using an eight-hour charter to search for productive water and mobile pelagic gamefish. The offshore search produced multiple dorado during a full fishing day departing from F Dock at Cabo San Lucas Marina. Cabo Charter Statistics and Fishing Results Charter Date: September 22, 2026 | Charter Length: 8 Hours Departure: 6:00 AM | Return: 2:00 PM Boat: Blue Water – 35' Riviera | Captain: Oscar Angler: Cody – Vancouver, B.C. | Species: Dorado Catch: Multiple Dorado | Fishing Style: Offshore Trolling Dredge: Included | Lunch: Included Departure Dock: F Dock, IGY Marina | Target Water: Offshore Cabo Dorado Fishing Requires an Active Search Dorado don't necessarily remain in one location throughout the day. Captain Oscar could use the eight-hour charter to evaluate changing offshore conditions while searching for indicators such as bait, birds, current edges, floating material and differences in water clarity. A dredge was incorporated into the trolling presentation, creating additional subsurface movement designed to imitate a concentration of bait. That offshore search eventually connected Cody with multiple dorado. Cabo Fishing Results at a Glance Fishing Statistic Result Charter Statistic Result Primary Catch Dorado Charter Time 8 Hours Catch Result Multiple Boat Length 35' Anglers 1 Captain Oscar Fishing Style Trolling Dredge Included Departure 6:00 AM Return 2:00 PM Lunch Included Departure Dock F Dock Dorado are particularly exciting trolling targets because the strike can quickly turn into an active fight. Strong runs, sudden changes of direction and surface jumps are all characteristic of the species. For a solo angler, multiple dorado meant Cody had plenty of direct fishing involvement throughout the charter. Cabo Offshore Fishing Benefits From Eight Hours Additional time doesn't guarantee fish, but it gives a captain more options. Dorado and marlin grounds can sometimes be 30–45 minutes from Cabo San Lucas Marina, and travel time must also be reserved for the trip back to the dock. An eight-hour schedule therefore creates a larger window for Captain Oscar to search different water, respond to changing conditions and remain with productive activity when fish are found. That flexibility was valuable on September 22. Cody's day combined a capable 35-foot Riviera, Captain Oscar's offshore search strategy, a dredge trolling presentation and sufficient charter time to continue looking until the crew connected with dorado. The result was multiple dorado aboard Blue Water. Ready to fish Cabo San Lucas? Check availability and book your Blue Sky Cabo fishing charter directly through FishingBooker.
