The redfish and speckled trout bite continues to improve around Port Aransas, Aransas Pass, Ingleside and Corpus Christi Bay. Cooler weather and recent cold fronts are starting to change the fishing patterns, and I’m locating both species more consistently.
For redfish, 1/4-ounce gold spoons have been working well while covering grass flats and shorelines. Speckled trout are responding to popping corks with shrimp-style lures. Live shrimp under a popping cork continues to be a dependable choice for redfish, trout, black drum and other inshore species.
The early-morning topwater bite is also starting to improve as the water cools. Fall fishing is getting better, and I expect the redfish and trout action to continue improving as temperatures come down.
Come spend a morning fishing the Texas Coastal Bend with Clean Fun Fishing.
