Kestrel warrior fishing trips Fishing report updated 13th 14th 15th and 16th of April Well we have had a mixed bag this weekend Starting off with a crew from London who we're planning a half days fishing for the kids.we decided to keep it close to Newhaven for this one and I have to say that a week can make so much difference.going from an astonishing 145 plaice one week to none the next but that wasn't all. The crew handed me an onvalope full of old paper £20 notes which was a piss take. But I should of checked. Sunday saw a regular customer Eric and his bunch of Misfit's going out for an offshore trip with the winds a calm and all that . We changed the from wrecks to pecks. Heading out for some bass. And what a result I must say. I think we was only 1 hours into the 8 hour trip and we managed to fill our share of bass catching our 12 fish limit in just 4 shot drifts with that I got the guy's to up sticks and go to some wrecks inshore. I wasn't holding much hope on them and I was proven write with just 1 Pollock to show for it. Later that eavning I took a 2nd crew for a short 4 hour trip we're we caught a further 5 bass between 3of us and with that we headed home. Today's trip was pretty good to I have to say I took my son Paul from FORT ROAD CAFE my dad who is finally getting better. after almost loosing his life at the beginning of last year to COVID. and a new customer from Germany. Both Paul and Ivin caught there first ever bass. That they have waited years to do made my day. We ended up landing our 10 bass limit and then we headed for home . Now the weather has turned I will sit back and chill for a couple of days ? Captain ant ?

Report – Brighton Marina | Sunday 3rd May **hidden content** With summer fast approaching, it’s safe to say the fishing is starting to pick up—although this weekend has definitely been a bit of a mixed bag. As many of you know, yesterday’s fishing was tough. But as they say, it can be chalk and cheese—and that’s exactly how this weekend has turned out. With the settled weather continuing, things can only improve. Today I had my loyal crew from Romania onboard. I gave them a call the night before to offer postponing, as the fishing had been hard going, but they were keen to get out there—bank holiday, nice weather, and worth a shot! With that in mind, I decided to keep things simple. We met at 8am sharp and set off from Brighton in calm, settled conditions. On the way out, we spotted some surface activity, so we stopped for a quick go at feathering for bait. Instead, we found ourselves into small school bass around the 1lb mark. After a bit of fun (all safely returned), I called lines up and we headed off to target bream. Once on the mark, we were into fish straight away. It wasn’t hectic, but steady enough—around 20 bream in the first hour, along with a couple of flatties in the mix. When things slowed around slack water, we decided to move. The afternoon proved just as productive. We shifted from the first patch of rough ground to another spot a bit further out, past the pier. The wind picked up slightly, but nothing to worry about. Before heading in, the lads fancied trying for some mackerel, so we headed east. To my surprise, we did manage to find a few—but only a handful. By 4pm, we were back at the marina to drop off and pick up our second crew of the day. Second Trip Our second trip was a one-hour mackerel session with first-timers Harriot and family, along with Matilda and her family. This one was a birthday surprise for her son—trips like this are always special, and seeing the smiles all round makes it all worthwhile. As mentioned earlier, I did let them know beforehand that the mackerel weren’t showing in big numbers, but they were happy to give it a go. After heading out, I noticed a few boats working the same area, so we joined them. I showed everyone how to feather properly and helped with the gear, and when we finally found a small shoal, seeing the kids’ faces light up made the trip. That’s what it’s all about. Two trips down, two happy crews. One more day of the bank holiday to go, then it’s back to maintenance! ? Hope everyone is having a great bank holiday and staying safe on the water. Tight lines, Captain Ant ?
