Les was great, my son caught a small trevally on his first cast! We booked the 4-6pm slot. several species of fish landed and a beautiful sunset to end the evening. We had a blast. Would recommend for those with small kids or kids just getting into fishing.
My guide was the perfect guide for me. He spent considerable time talking about the Hawaiians culture approach to fishing. What it means to the people of Hawaii and that’s it’s simply not just another body of water. The ocean is what give’s Hawaii’s life. It must be protected to serve future generations. He talked about respect for the ocean and land. Everyone who comes to Hawaii should take time and do something for islands. Clean a section of beach, donate some time to at an animal shelter. Oh he did show me how to fish the waters. Caught one fish, but this day was not about the fish, it was about serving the land, sea, and air so I could go fishing.
We had an awesome shore trip with Les! My 9 year old loves fishing but only for about an hour so the minimum 4 hour boat trips dont work for us. Les was super friendly and had a great spot for us. I would definitely recommend for familys with young kids, and will definitely book again when we make it back to Maui.
My husband and I had an amazing time. Les was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We would have been pumped just to catch one fish in our two hour excursion but I caught 3 and my husband caught 4. It was a beautiful relaxing educational activity. Would definitely do it again. Les was helful and fun.
