Big Daddy SportFishing invites you to join Captain James Pollard for a fishing adventure on and near Tampa Bay, FL. James has been fishing the local waters for more than two decades now and knows all about getting you on the fish and providing you with a memorable experience.
He’ll be taking you fishing on his 24’ Avenger bay boat with a tower, that’s powered by a single 300 HP Yamaha engine that can get you to the fishing grounds in a snap. It’s equipped with top of the line Garmin electronics, as well as a massive baitwell for bait and a wireless trolling motor when you need to slow things down a notch.
St. Petersburg is one of the best-known fishing destinations in this part of Florida, owing to its plentiful year-round fishery. Depending on when you’re fishing and what you’re aiming for, you can go after anything from Redfish and Snook to Kingfish, Tarpon, and Cobia.
Captain James will supply you with everything you’ll need for a good fishing time, including quality custom-made rods and Shimano reels. He will also clean the catch for your convenience after the trip is over. All you need to do is pack a pair of polarized sunglasses, get some snacks if you want, and get ready to reel ‘em in.

Half day trip, catching fish the whole time!
James was the perfect captain for us. Our main goal was that our 9 year old catch a few fish. We succeeded within the first 10 minutes. James put us on the reds, trout and snooks our son had a fantastic time. He caught the most and the largest of the fish during the trip. James was extremely knowledgeable about the area and showed us a fantastic time! If you are looking to catch fish with an experienced captain who knows how to work with everyone, James is your guy!

4 hour trip with Captain Jim
First salt water fishing experience with my son. Captain Jim made everything easy and relaxing. His expertise of the area was tremendous. The first line he casted for my son, he hooked a large trout which made my son extremely happy. We caught numerous species of fish along with seeing the bays wildlife. Once we were finished and got back into our vehicle, my son asked when we were coming back to fish with Captain Jim. My son and I now have memories that will last a lifetime. We definitely plan on coming back to fish with Captain Jim. Highly recommend booking with Big Daddy Sport Fishing!!

Great Family Trip with Captain Jim
Our family of four did a half day trip with Captain Jim. He took us right to a spot that was red hot with snook biting! We caught fish after fish and had a great time. As an added bonus he was quick to point out several dolphins, a nurse shark, a big sting ray and a manatee that were swimming around or under our boat at different times, and he was really patient and great at explaining things to our 8 and 10 year old kids, and answering their countless questions. Our kids talked non stop for hours after we finished about how much fun they had. It was great fun for the adults too. I would highly recommend Captain Jim and Big Daddy sport fishing.

Half Day Morning Trip with Captain (Jim) Pollard/Big Daddy Sportfishing
Captain Jim went out of his way to put us on some fish despite a cold spell and general poor fishing conditions in early January '22. He even called several days before to see if we could fish a day earlier to avoid high winds and rough conditions on our scheduled day, which was important because our party included our 91 year-old Dad (trip was a birthday present!). When the fish weren't cooperating much close by, he ran to some distant spots to find fish, and even stayed out past the scheduled end time. We would definitely recommend Captain Jim and plan to book another trip with him in the near future.

Awesome day
We had windy and cold conditions on the tail end of a cold front during Feb, which is a slower month for fishing Despite these hurdles, Capt Jim found several wind protected honey holes and put us on a variety of fish. It was a great day and he is a really nice, personable, and professional captain that knows his trade. I will use him again when I come to Tampa.
