Capt. Taco’s Hooked Up Sportfishing is your key to the best angling in South Florida. Cruise out of Fort Lauderdale and feel the connection with the waters. Fishing with Capt. Taco is a unique experience everyone should have!

Deep drop for what is around the wrecks, including Amberjack, Grouper, Cobia, and Mutton Snapper. Try kite fishing for Sailfish and get a bonus of Shark, Kingfish, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, and many more.

If you are a big fan of Sharks, target these pelagic monsters in about 350 ft of water. Go for fast Mako Shark, Thresher Sharks that look like aliens, beautiful Hammerheads, Tiger Shark, Bull Shark, Blacktip… and the list just goes on!

One of the best things about the beautiful waters of Fort Lauderdale is that you don’t have to travel too far out to enjoy rod-bending action! Capt. Taco will take you trolling the reef for Kingfish and Bonito or offshore for something bigger. Cast with spinner rods for schools of Mahi Mahi, target Wahoo, Tuna, and occasional Blue Marlin.

Or get the most out of your South Florida trip and get your hands on Swordfish. Head up to 20 miles out, rig bait, and get ready for an adrenaline rush.

Capt. Taco will take you out aboard the ‘Hooked Up.’ With 41’ of excellence, she comes powered by two 450 HP Avico engines. Inside and outside, six anglers will find ample of space and can have a seat wherever they like.

Once the Hooked Up sets out, a reliable set of navigational electronics will guide you, homing in on the hottest grounds. You will be using International reels ranging from 20 to 80 lb and custom rods, built by Capt. Taco.

The action will take place outside the cockpit. There are 4 fighting chairs for those who are up to a challenge. All aboard!

The trips aboard the Hooked Up are all-inclusive. You only need to bring your own food and drinks.

    The 6 hours trips give us that little extra time to try 2 or 3 different types of fishing. We can start out trolling the reef and after everyone has caught some reef fish, we got plenty of time to switch over to kite fishing for Sailfish or go up to 20 miles offshore looking for those tasty Mahi Mahi and maybe even have time for a couple deep drops for Groupers or some great eating Snappers.

    These trips are for the experienced angler looking for that battle of a lifetime with monster Swordfish. We do NOT recommend these trip to first times! These trips are for those who are used to fishing way offshore and that KNOW FISHING! (WE ARE HEROS OR ZEROS). We want to catch these sea monsters more than anyone but this is fishing! While we are very good at what we do and we're fishing in our backyard it is still FISHING so we don't always catch Swordfish on every trip.

    This trip will take you up to 20 miles out for monster Swordfish. If you are an experienced angler, look no further. Once you get to the ground, you will rig bonito or squid, and it’s fish on! Expect to troll for Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Blue Marlin, and Tuna on your way out. The departure time will depend on the season and can be from 5:30 to 6:00 pm. You will leave the dock 2-3 hours before the sunset.

Captain Taco Perez has been mastering the waters of South Florida since the mid 70’s. He fished for Jacks, Tarpon, and whatever else patrolled the canals and Intracoastal waterways. Taco’s first boat was a 25’ Open Fisherman, aboard which he explored the Ft. Lauderdale coast. Taco gained as much information as possible from local anglers, perfected his cast, and tried various techniques and fishing methods. Before he knew, people began asking him about fishing! Taco’s repertoire is not limited to the waters of South Florida. He has fished all over Mexico, Venezuela, St. Thomas, and Turk, as well as the Bahamas. He has successfully taken part in various fishing competitions, including the Bahamas Blue Marlin tournament. Now, Captain Taco has his own charter business and he is loving every minute of it.
