Join Captain Jeff Gibson and Leisure Life Charters for a unique fishing experience out of St. Petersburg, FL. Having fished everywhere from Costa Rica to the Bahamas, Jeff knows all there is to know about catching a variety of local fish species. Whether you’re a beginner or expert, he’ll make sure the trip is tailored to your particular needs.
You’ll be fishing aboard a 2017 25ft Sea Hunt with a Yamaha 300. Along with all the necessary navigation and safety gear, it’s also equipped with a wireless trolling motor for when you need to be careful about spooking fish. There’s plenty of room aboard for up to 4 people, so you can always bring the rest of the family along for the ride. There is also a t-top for shade.
Captain Jeff has more than 20 years of experience fishing the Tampa Bay waters, so he’ll know where to take you for the best results. Some of the species you can find around here include Redfish, Tarpon, Seatrout, Snook, Sheepshead, Sharks, and many more besides.
You’ll be using top of the line equipment, such as Shimano, Daiwa, and Penn reels, as well as Fin-Nor, Allstar, and Redbone rods. When you’re all done, the Captain will clean the catch for your convenience. All you need to do is bring a pair of sunglasses, sunscreen, along with drinks and snacks if you’re so inclined. The fish are biting year-round, so come on down and have a blast!

Half Day Morning Trip (Extended)
Hooked a Trophy Snook!!!
Captain Jeff was very knowledgeable and helpful and got us on to fish from the start and throughout the day. We took the 5 hour morning charter with our 25 year old son and his girlfriend and caught a variety of fish. Captain Jeff was quick to get all poles baited and fish in the boat and just on top of everything so we could keep fishing. Our son had the time of his life reeling in his beautiful catch, a trophy snook!! We all enjoyed the charter, the boat was clean and well kept, and quality rods and reels supplied - we couldn’t ask for anything better!! Highly recommend Captain Jeff and his charter service - such a fun outdoor activity for families and all ages!!

Great Morning Trip with Captain Jeff
I would highly recommend Leisure Charters with Captain Jeff. He had us on the fish early and often. Once he said, “expect less boating and more fishing” I knew it was the charter for us. We probably caught about 35 fish in 4 hours including multiple different kinds of fish (speckled trout, jack, squirrel fish, catfish, grunter, red fish, and lady fish). We fished with shrimp for a while and the fish were biting like crazy. We then cut up some lady fish for bait and caught a red fish. Captain Jeff was easy to work with, very knowledgeable, constantly baiting our hooks and removing the fish with speed. If traveling back to the area, will book again with Captain Jeff.

My grandson and I recently had the pleasure of joining him for a fishing trip, and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped on the boat, Captain Jeff made sure that we were comfortable and ready for an adventure. Wonderful Morning with Captain Jeff
Could not have asked for more during our 5hr inshore fishing excursion with Capt. Jeff for my 15 year old son’s birthday. Jeff was very helpful, doing all of the work, attentively baiting hooks, cutting bait, assisting with tangled line, and giving helpful pointers along the way. The boat was great (~25ft Sea Hunt) and clean (like new), comfortable for 4 guests (we were a party of 3 + Captain Jeff). He even accommodated bathroom breaks at the nearby marina. As for the fishing, Capt. Jeff put us on fish early and often. Knew the hot spots and didn’t hang around too long at spots where we weren’t having much luck. Caught plenty of trout and a few redfish, along with a variety of other fish. We were thrilled with the trip, and my son said it was one of his favorite experiences ever. As locals, we will certainly have Capt. Jeff on our short list for another inshore fishing trip.

Great Time - and All About Fishing
Don’t waste time reading the less than five star reviews - I don’t know what they came for, but it wasn’t fishing. Jeff was fantastic - and he wastes ZERO time traveling and sightseeing, maximizing your line time on the water. He was the first boat on the water in the morning, fully prepped to go. He was always paying attention with bait, while simultaneously telling stories about the area, the fish, and the birds (literally hilarious watching them try to steal fish off the line!). And he delivered, despite a slower mid-morning - caught a keeper and had a large snook hooked - which was a grand experience for my two teenage sons and my father-in-law. I would recommend him to anyone, and I’ll hit him up again when we come back!
