Due to the new Thai labor regulations, only a Thai citizen can work in a small business as a captain or a guide to a boat.
That is why the captain of our boat is now a local captain named Thi who has worked on Yamaha Challenger boat as a guide and captain since I got the boat.

Before that he work in my Silvertone 42 foot yacht as a second captain and deck hand.

Thi is part of Pattaya’s original fisherman family who has once lived in Pattaya.

He lives on fishing and, for example, catches by diving with a harpoon by shooting fish from a depth of 30 meters.

He remembers where the biggest stones in the rock are and where the fish are hidden because they have seen the places when they dive.

Father and family have taught all the skills of fishing over the years.
No matter you fishing day or night he can find the best spots.

He also has his own 25 foot boat, which he uses for fishing when he is working.

I’ll meet you on the boat before the tour. I’ll tell you about the program of the day, the weather and where we fish. I’ll give you the latest instructions and tell for the captain if you have some special requests for the trip.

See you soon !

The boat was well equipped, and we had local skipper and deck hand, both had good local knowledge of the waters, unfortunately the owner could not join us. We had only one bit on the main lines which got away more to my lack of experience. we did find a good spot and caught many smaller snappers and barracuda, and little shark.

The guys did drop us off on the return to swim at a local island which is a nice break for us .  Jari is very kind and friendly and even arranged to let us eat our catch at a local restaurant.
Overall we had a great of day although the big fish still waits me.

Awesome trip. First, fished a bait fish. After that we put the big fish Sets ask. At the same time, more and fished a bait fish. Food was the case in the journey half way. We ate delicious Thai food. Finally, the tour captain Jari cleaned the fish, which I took with me, and I made my apartment. Regards Harri Suhonen
