Captain Juan Levy Ramirez invites you to join Surfandfishing Charters for a memorable offshore trip out of Puerto Escondido, Mexico. Juan has a lot of experience with big game fishing, having participated in a number of local tournaments with great success. He'll do his best to make sure you get the fishing experience you've always wanted.
His boat is the Marissa II - a 26' Super Panga that comes with a 140 HP Suzuki 4-stroke engine. There's plenty of room on the vessel for up to four prospective anglers, so why not bring some friends along for the ride? You'll also find a fighting chair onboard, as well as a pair of outriggers and a livewell for bait.
This part of Mexico makes for great deep sea fishing because you'll be in deep waters pretty much as soon as you leave the dock. Some of the fish species you'll be able to target here are Mahi Mahi, Jack Crevalle, Sailfish, Blue Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, and so much more besides. Preserving Billfish is one thing that's very important to Captain Juan, which is why Billfishing trips are catch and release only.
You'll find that rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price of the trip, along with complimentary drinks and snacks. Whatever you decide to keep will be cleaned and filleted after the trip for your convenience. All you need to do is pack a pair of sunglasses, some sunscreen, and get ready to hook 'em.
The remaining balance should be paid in cash, in pesos.

The whole time you are fishing you are surrounded by dolphins and sea turtles as they guide you to feeding frenzies. In the feeding frenzy you'll see Marlin, Sail Fish, and Tuna striking the surface. Pretty surreal experience. The crew is knowledgable, passionate about fishing, and helped me clean the fish when we got to the beach. Great photographers too. He has a very hi res insta360 so you do not have to worry about photos at all!

We went out to sea and caught two Bonita in the first 20 minutes! Then onward to try the bigger fish. We ended up catching two 2-meter long 25kg sailfish, which we then had prepared at a nearby restaurant. Amazing photos and experience!!!

We saw lots of sea turtles and dolphins on our tour, and the captain let us swim with the dolphins on our way back to shore. Overall a great trip and would recommend/do again.

Half Day Trip (PM) on March 15, 2024 • 3 adultsWe (three persons) booked the trip first as a half day trip PM but the captain contacted us that it would better suit us if we go in the morning. The change worked easily without extra charges. The fishing was good, after 10 minutes we caught a nice Crevalle Jack, then maybe 1 hour later two Roosters and 30 mins later a Dorado. We had two times when the fish only eat the bait so after this we did not have any more live bait so we stopped trolling. After that we went to search for bonitos but did not find any. The captain wanted to take the Jack for his friend and we took the Dorado for ourself and the Roosters were released. Captain recommended us a place to get the fish cleaned and then we took it to a local restaurant for a delicious lunch, a perfect end for the trip! We also saw some rays, a turtle and a marlin during the 4 hour trip. Highly recommended to book with them!

There's fishing and there's CATCHING. The trip I took with Capatin Levy was a cathing trip! Levy definitely knows how to catch! After hooking several smaller bonito the captain promised that the next hook up would be a sailfish. The next three were sailfish in the 180, 70 and 40 pound category. Moral of the story: make sure you book your trip with Captain Levy!!
Went out with Levy and Jordan with my girlfriend and I for our anniversary and hooked four sailfish! They also shared their homemade tuna salad sandwiches with us which were awesome.. great time and they know what they're doing. Tons of dolphins/turtles and fish.

Hello friends, fishing is my life is my job. I love fishing! I am the third generation of fishermen in Puerto Escondido, I followed the steps of my grandfather and father. I really liked seeing the big fish that my father fished like Marlin, Sailfish and Tuna. I wanted to be a captain like them someday and be able to entertain clients while at the same time earning a little money doing what I like. Locally, I have won 3 Marlin tournaments, 4 sailfish tournaments, and one Mahi Mahi tournament
