Suzie B. Charters SCALLOPING
The waters around Crystal River are known for their great variety of species that reside in it. The many hidden bays and estuaries that surround the city provide a veritable treasure trove for the fish there and Suzie B. Charters has the key to that treasure!
Climb aboard their 24' Carolina Skiff center console, that's spacious enough to hold up to 6 anglers at the same time. She's powered by a single Yamaha 4-stroke engine, providing 115HP worth of power.
Scalloping is an exciting activity for the whole family! It's best done in the summer when the kids will enjoy dipping in and out of the gorgeous waters off the shore of Crystal Cove while picking up these tasty morsels. You can also see a lot of breathtaking views of the Nature Coast, while you cruise around. Snorkeling is also a part of the trip and the kids really love it!
Want to do something more exciting than just scalloping? Why not combine it with fishing for a half-and-half trip? The fish of the Gulf are fantastic in both variety and the challenge they pose to the fisherman.
The captain will teach you how to clean your own scallops, but you can pay the professional cleaners at the dock to do it for you – at $30 per 5-gallon bucket of scallops. Masks and snorkels are included. Customers are advised to bring sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, adequate clothing, and a waterproof camera to document the excellent memories you'll be creating!

We really enjoy Captain Suzie & Bobby! This was our second trip with them at Crystal River. They are locals & really know & love the area. This scalloping season has been rumored to be challenging but on our half day trip we filled a bucket of beauties! We cooked them 2 hours later & they were sweet & delicious. We are already planning our next outing wth Suzie B Charter!
Thanks, Tammy! Your crew is always a blast!
Thanks for coming out with us!
Lots of fun with you guys! Thanks for the review...enjoy your yummy meal!
We booked a 4 hr fish and 4 hr scallop trip with Cptn Suzie B and had a great time. She was informative, easy to understand and had lots of patience. When heading out to fish Cptn Suzie saw that a boat we passed was having trouble navigating the channel. She apologized, turned our boat around and was kind enough to lead the other boat through the maze of dangerous oyster bars that can rip open a boats hull and cause serious damage. We were very impressed that she cared that much. We caught trout, jack, catfish and small redfish and a very big 31" redfish which, though the still photo is blurry, Cptn Suzie got some great video! It was opening day of scallop season. My husband can snorkel and said conditions were a bit difficult and I had never done it. The scallops hadn't moved into shallow water yet but we tried out an area with a 6' depth. My husband found 1 scallop though while I clung to the floatie and practiced for next time. If you don't know how to snorkel I would suggest that you practice in a pool first as it's a very unusual and unnatural feeling at first. Cptn Suzie was very supportive, patient and instructive. Since scalloping was a bust Cptn Suzie was kind enough to take us back out fishing and we went over our allotted time. We had a super time!!!! We highly recommend this charter!
