Risen Tide Sportfishing is an experienced charter operation specializing in fishing San Diego Bay and the surrounding inshore waters. Spotted Bay Bass, Bonefish, Shortfin Corvina, California Halibut, Sand Bass, Calico Bass, and Leopard Sharks are just a few of the species you can expect to catch on a typical day in San Diego Bay.
This is a great place to introduce children to the sport of fishing, as bites come early and often and 20-30 fish is not uncommon for a half day of fishing. On top of that, the fish of San Diego Bay bite year round, rain or shine! Inshore you will focus on saltwater bass (Calico and Sandbass) as well as Yellowtail, Lingcod, Halibut, White Seabass, and a wide variety of tasty bottom fish.
You could not ask for a better vessel than Captain Eric Risen’s Skeeter SX240 bay boat. Brand new in 2017, she is powered by a 300 HP Yamaha outboard motor to get you out to fishing grounds quickly and safely. The boat has top-of-the-line fish finding electronics, a high-powered trolling motor, insulated fish boxes, and all the necessary safety equipment including life jackets for all sizes (children included). Please note, the minimum age for children is 8 years.
All fishing tackle is high-quality, with Daiwa and Shimano rods and reels to ensure you don’t lose the fish of a lifetime. Most charters come with live bait, which is bought before the trip to save you precious fishing time. There are plenty of snacks and drinks onboard and all your fish will be cleaned and filleted free of charge at the end of the day. Just jump aboard with your fishing license and anything you want for the day and enjoy!

Great fishiing!
Eric was a great guide/skipper. Very knowledgeable and a good teacher. We caught lots of fish (bass, sharks, rays) and he seemed to know how to find them. Communication prior to the trip was lacking. We found out that CA fishing licenses would be required the day before our trip and we spent 1-1/2 hours trying to buy licenses online at the CA website. Fishers should download the CA fisheries app which makes the process a little easier. Also, request that Eric text you the coordinates for the meeting location. The map provided on the Fishing Booker app took us 15 miles in the wrong direction from the actual meeting site.

Eric, our captain is amazing. He knows the fishing business like nobody else he’s very organized very efficient and knows how to catch fish. He knows where the fish are. He’s very professional kind and courteous my son cut about 13 fish, different species, including shark bass halibut, etc. I highly recommend Eric we tried to book him again, but he’s booked up for at least a week. We’re still gonna try to go out again if possible.

Another Great Day on the Bay
Eric made it another great day on the Bay! His in depth knowledge of the tides, trends, colors, bottom, and what's where and when translates into nonstop action. He made sure we got the fish we wanted for the table and two sharks, a 5' leopard and a 6' soupfin, for the challenge ... just like we had hoped for.

Great fishing experience
Eric, our captain, was wonderful! He was very patient with inexperienced people, namely me. He moved the boat several times to accommodate and find better fishing spots. All together the three of us caught 38 fish. This trip was a surprise trip for our 13 year old grandson. He wanted to do it everyday. Thanks Eric!

40 fish in 4 hours!
As previous boat owners in Alaska and avid fishermen, we can say Eric is the best captain and charter we’ve experienced! He put us on the fish all day long. We caught 9 different species, but the icing on the cake was catching a Leopard Shark. We would 100% do this again!
