Alaskan Angling Adventures

Cooper's Landing Mile 48 Sterl…
Cooper Landing AK, United States

Alaskan Angling Adventures offers you the chance to fish in search of King, Silver, and Sockeye Salmon, as well as Dolly Varden and Rainbow Trout. Launching out of Cooper Landing, Sterling or Kasilof you will be fishing in the heart of the Chugach National Forest or the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge while still being an easy drive from local cities.

You will be spending your day winding along one of the area’s many rivers aboard Mike’s 20’ Willie Drift Boat. Built in 2009, this sturdy, modern vessel is the perfect tool for getting into the very best waters. Many of the local fisheries are drift boat-only, so you can leave the noise and pollution behind you and focus on the fishing.

You can take your pick of local rivers to explore, each offering great and unique opportunities. Head deep into the Upper Kenai River, following its path through the Kenai Mountains and into the Chugach National Forest. Drift along the Kalisof River, or the Middle Kenai River making your way through the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.

Whatever you do, you can trust your guide to get you fishing in the best spots. Mike has been fishing his whole life and is never happier or more at home than when on the water. He will teach you all about the local wildlife and nature and will get you on catches the likes of which you have never seen.

Anglers of all ages and skill levels are welcome, with everything you need for world-class fishing provided on your trip. Your guide will even clean and fillet all your Salmon at the end of the day, ready to enjoy as soon as you get home. Please be advised that all Trout and Char are catch and release only.

This truly is an incredible opportunity, fishing in untouched wilderness for hard-fighting fish with an experienced guide and top tackle. So get out into the country and get ready for a trip you will forever look back on and smile.

Thanks for taking the time to review your trip with me.  I hope the salmon are just running late this year (the numbers have been better the last few days) so that we might have the chance to fish together again and not have to work so hard for our fish.
Best,
Mike

The breath-takingly beautiful location made this a 5-star trip; so awesome to fish the upper Kenai! Wow! Capt Mike is obviously top-notch with his skills, knowledge, & experience. However, I do need to mention that his boat is in need of some repair. The seat I sat in was not attached properly, so it moved a great deal, made awful sounds, & just didn’t seem to be very safe. The other critique I will share is that we paid for, & expected, a relaxing, fun, fishing experience; but, this captain did not even find out each of our skill levels prior to handing out his equipment to us, using verbiage that was different from that which the rest of us were familiar with, & then he made criticisms + insults to all three of us who were fishing aboard. That was both unnecessary + insulting. So, I might suggest that going forward, Mike Adams could familiarize himself better with the fishing history + experience of each person onboard; this might help to maintain the dignity of each paying customer he’s guiding out to fish… Overall, though, it was quite a memorable & successful excursion; we may even consider Capt Mike for future chartered fishing trips. Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your experience fishing with me.  I am glad that your overall experience was memorable and successful!  When the trip was over and you mentioned wanting to book another trip in October I did not realize that you had anything but positive thoughts about our trip together.  Please know that my tips on fishing throughout the day were intended to help you be successful and develop your ability with the rod and reel and were certainly never intended to be critical and absolutely were not intended to insult anyone and if I had known that you felt in any way unsafe in your seat I certainly would have offered for you to switch to another one.  Fishing is a lifelong learning process, as is guiding and I hope we can both learn from our trip together.
Best, Mike Adams

My Dad and I booked a day river cruise with Mike and had a great time fishing. Mike was very responsive and easy to work with prior and during the trip. He really worked the river making sure we had a chance to fish all areas and taught us various techniques for river fishing. I would recommend Mike to others and look forward to booking again with him.
