Most of his charters catch over a hundred fish a day. Capt. Troy works hard to put his wealth of knowledge and talent to work for you. He specializes in fly fishing, deep sea, trolling, and sight fishing charters both inshore and offshore, targeting around 25 species.

The list of your potential catches includes Mahi Mahi, Red Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Black Seabass, Sailfish, Little Tunny, King Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, Cobia, Barracuda, Amberjack, and Bluefish to name a few. With those amazing species all among the popular catches, it’s hard to resist a trip!

You will be fishing aboard a 2021 28’ Seafox offshore boat. It can fit up to 6
paying passengers and comes powered by twin 250 HP Yamaha 4-stroke engines. Cruising at a top speed of 60 knots, the boat can get you and your party to the hottest spots quickly and safely. Plus, there is a toilet on board, which is much-needed when you spend your day offshore.

Whichever trip you choose, it will include rods, reels, tackle, bait, licenses, and top-notch fly fishing equipment. A complimentary fish cleaning service, along with water and Gatorade will also be available onboard.

By far the best fishing trip I’ve been on, and Troys know how on the best fishing spots really lended itself to a successful outing with over 16 keepers which will grill up nicely including a 9+ mahi surge when we found a school moving between spots.thank you Troy for being such a great host and expert out on the ocean!

We had a great time with Captain Troy. He is helpful, knowledgeable and provides a great overall experience. Everyone in our party caught keepers and we were able to enjoy a huge feast after our trip. Definitely highly recommend him as a captain!

Ten hour trip with Captain Troy

10 Hour Trip - Offshore on June 29, 2019 • 9 adults

Yesterday, we spent nearly 10 hours with Captain Troy on his fishing boat. There were nine of us, all family, and we had a great time. Even though the weather wasn't perfect, Captain Troy did all he could in his power to see that we all caught some fish. Many of our family had never taken a fishing excursion this far out in the Atlantic, Captain Troy made the trip worth while. A bonus for us came when we saw a huge giant sea turtle, dolphins came with a few feet of the boat, and a couple barracudas wanted to share our bait. If you are looking for a family experience on a fishing boat in the St. Augustine area, I do not thing you could find a Captain with better fishing equipment or personality.

Father's Day Offshore Trip

Captain Troy has been one of the more enjoyable guides I've had the pleasure to spend hours on the water with. He met us at the ramp on time, took us to catch bait where we caught tons of live cigar minnows and a few pin fish. Fish were a little tough on the bite but Captain Troy no novice to uncharted waters taking is to spots that many other anglers probably weren't familiar with as their were no boats. We were a good ways offshore targeting big fish and good quality eating fish as I did day we wanted something good to eat. We caught a couple sea bass that were delicious. Tons of Red snapper although not in season I would recommend booking a trip if you got the chance as Captain Troy knows where to find the big ones. The seas were right and Captain Troy made it all the more comfortable with his navigation skills. All of his gear is top notch and well maintained to avoid any loss hookups. Book was nice and clean and plenty of ice for our catch. Obviously the 55 inch Mahi we got was the kicker to our day. But having a good guide makes a trip the best and we will plan our trips in advance with Captain Troy to assure another great day on the water!!!
