Located in Manteo, NC, the crew of Duck Hunter has been fishing and hunting in the magnificent Outer Banks for more than 15 years. Professional guide Hunter Garza lives for the outdoors, and specializes in inshore fishing and showing his customers the beauties of North Carolina. He’ll make sure you have an incredible time and get to know the area from a unique perspective.
Duck Hunter will take you out aboard a 20’ Carolina Skiff built in 2006 and fully restored in 2018. Yamaha four-stroke powers the vessel and it comes equipped with top-notch professional safety gear and navigational electronics. It also has a self-deploying i-Pilot wireless trolling motor and a live bait tank to keep your bait fresh.
The captain doesn’t always use live bait, but when he does, it can be prepared before or fished for during the trip - it’s entirely up to your liking. He’ll show you the best fishing spots of the bountiful waters of Outer Banks where you’ll be targeting a variety of species. Early spring is perfect for battling Speckled Trout, and when it starts to get warmer, Flounder can be one of your primary targets. You’ll be able to reel in Redfish any time of the year, as well as many other species. Depending on the weather conditions, the guide can also take you clamming.
You won’t have to worry about fishing gear - Duck Hunter will provide all the tackle and lures needed for the best catch. The Captain can also make sure your catch is cleaned and filleted (there may be a small fee). If you want to bring your little ones along, your guide will be more than happy to have them on board, no matter the age. He’ll provide life jackets for them and make sure that you create everlasting memories together.

had a great trip. fishing was slow but his confidence, praise, and conversation made up for it. would recommend over and over.

thank you for booking with Duck Hunter!
We were carching black drum within minutes. Good time. Captain Josh was knowledgable, answered all of our questions, and taught us a few new tricks

im glad you had a good time. We would love to take you again.
Hunter loves what he does, and it shows. He arrived with a clean boat and a big smile. I went fishing with him on back to back weeks with customers, and everyone had a great time. We caught a few fish on both trips. Would definitely recommend.

So I came out from California for some East Coast fishing for the first time. I have fished Northern California for many years, ocean fishing from kayaks mostly. Booked with Hunter for a half day trip on the sound. Got on the fish right away with 2 trout just over 20 inches right away. We moved around the sound to different spots and got a few more fish. It was a totally AUTHENTIC experience with a local guide. Putting us on the fish is his mission, not cramming as many trips in a day as possible. I would recommend Duck Hunter for your next trip.

As a native of the OBX,Hunter is a true professional and does a fantastic job navigating through the sound and other areas. He made the experience for my son and me unforgettable and so fun. Not only did we catch fish,we did some shrimping and caught blue crab. As a bonus we saw dolphins and sea turtles. My 16 year old son doesn’t impress easily, but he said it was an awesome experience. Thank you Hunter! We’ll look you up next time we’re in the OBX. Stay safe brother!

Thankyou guys so much I had a amazing time I’d love to take you guys again next year ! So glad you guys caught enough to eat ! Look forward to seeing you guys again one day !
I have been fishing the Outer Banks since I was a small child. Fishing and hunting is something I have always been passionate about, and I love sharing my passion with my customers and creating memories together. I specialize in inshore fishing, focusing on Flounder, Speckled Trout and Redfish, but if my customers prefer clamming or sightseeing, or having a picnic on an island, I can tailor the trip just for you.
