Welcome to the Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. You’ll find many opportunities to relax and of course to do some fishing. Cool Cat Charters is there for anglers who want to explore local waters and see what’s biting. Captain Chris Prince will put you on the fish, and he’ll do his best so that you have a great time while you’re chasing that big catch.
You’ll be having your fishing adventure on board the 30’ Cobia 296, center console model from 2014. It can take on groups of up to 6 guests. The boat is powered by a double Yamaha engine with 300 hp and it can reach speeds of 50 kn. You’ll be quickly navigating from one hot spot to another. For your optimal fishing experience, fishfinding equipment is available, and you can use the downriggers.
This charter covers nearshore and offshore areas which include reef and wreck locations. The fish is biting all year round, it’s just the question of which species are in season. Generally, the summer months are the most action-packed. You can target Kingfish, Snapper, and several types of Shark and Grouper. You can go after these beauties using light and heavy tackle, bottom and deep sea fishing, trolling, and spinning.
Don’t fret about your South Carolina fishing license, as the charter’s got you covered. As for the necessary fishing gear, lures, and bait, they will be waiting for you. For a more comfortable trip, you can use the onboard toilet. If you get lucky, you can keep the catch. What’s more, the crew will help you clean it and prepare it. Children are welcome.
Make some great memories on an active fishing trip with Cool Cat Charters.

Monster Shark Trip on June 17, 2025
Great fishing trip!!! We had an extraordinarily great time!!! Captain Chris knows what's up. I have been on several fishing charters and this charter was absolutely the best by far. Lots of big fish hooked and landed. Delivered on the Monster Shark charter title!! We hooked and got pics with 11' and 6' Bull Sharks next to the boat before releasing them. Bad A$%!!! Thank you Chris!!!

4 Hour Trip – Nearshore on July 29, 2024
We had the best day for fishing. Cool Cat is just behind Skull Creek Dockside so there was plenty of parking and clean restrooms to use before the trip. We booked a 4 hour trip, and we had 3 adults, an 11 year old, and a 7 year old. We left promptly at 8 am and stopped to catch some bait. The captain said we almost caught too much so we were hopeful it was a sign of a good day. It was overcast and not too hot that day. We headed out to our first fishing spot which turned out to be great. First thing caught was a bonnet shark which immediately went on ice. We caught another one, several black tip and black nose sharks, lady fish, and a Spanish mackerel we kept on ice. There wasn’t much time to get bored as the fish and sharks bit quickly. Bubba was great with our kids. He’d tell them what to do to help, and let them join right in. My husband got seasick after a bit so we cut the trip a little short but it was super successful. The boat was nice and clean, a great size for the 5 of us. The captain cleaned the shark and fish for us when we got back, then we took it to Skull Creek to be blackened and fried. It was amazing! Would definitely go back out with him.

4 Hour Trip – Nearshore on July 17, 2024
We had a beautiful day today. We pulled up on bait, filled our live wells on a single cast net throw, and decided to fish right there. We landed about 12 sharks and lost maybe 6 over about an hour and half. Clearly not normal, but it was a lot of fun. Many times we had two sharks on simultaneously. Birds were diving on the bait all morning from above, and sharks were hitting from the bottom for most of the first 2 hours. After this we moved on because we were continuing to catch mostly finetooth sharks, and we wanted to find something we could eat. After moving we had a tougher time landing fish, but we continued to catch or break off a mix of sharks. Overall it was a great day and Captain Chris was able to keep us in the game for most of the day. Love the boat. We had six people fishing and everyone caught and fought multiple fish. The captain worked hard and just got abused by sharks thrashing around and whacking him in the shins, but we had a great time and the captain was a great host. If you are thinking about “Cool Cat,” you can’t go wrong with Captain Prince.

4 Hour Trip – Nearshore on July 23, 2024
Went out with my family of 5 looking to just catch some fish and enjoy a morning on the water. Capt did a great job. We were a few minutes early so he wasted no time leaving to catch some bait. He worked hard to put us on some fish constantly changing bait and moving if it was slow. Between all of us we must have landed about 20 assorted species and lost 10-12. Overall my kids had a blast and want to go back out again next year.
