Pacific Venture Charter Service is a business with a long and proud tradition of running trips out of Oceanside, California. Captain Charles White has decades of experience fishing in the Pacific and he’s always more than glad to share this knowledge with his guests. You can definitely count on him to show you a great time on the water.

Your boat for the day will be a 43’ LOA vessel that’s powered by a pair of 230 HP Yanmar 2023 Diesel engines. She’s got plenty of room for up to 6 people to fish and enjoy themselves in comfort. In fact, she’s the only 6 pack charter boat in Southern California with SeaKeeper Stabilization Technology, specifically designed to virtually eliminate 90% boat roll. Not only that, but she’s got a spacious flybridge with seating for 5 people, as well as a toilet that comes in very handy on longer trips.

Depending on what you’re looking to do on the water, you have plenty of options in these waters. Shorter trips are best for going after fish that make great table fare, such as Rockfish, Halibut, or Calico Bass. On the other hand, those after the big fish can go further offshore to target the likes of Mahi Mahi, Striped Marlin, Mako Shark and Yellowfin Tuna.

Everything you could possibly need for a productive fishing adventure is included in the price of your trip. From rods, reels, and terminal tackle to fish cleaning services after the trip is over. So just get a valid fishing license and come on down. When you fish with Pacific Venture, you’re taking part in a tradition more than a quarter-century in the making!

5 Hour Trip (AM) on July 24, 2024

I really appreciated Captain Chuck and his deck hand Andre was awesome. Chuck asked and I told him what I wanted to do for the trip and he delivered. We shot for the sky for the first couple hours for Mako and came up short but I’m sure the reality is that shark fishing is an all day event with no guarantees (obviously) and I only booked the 5 hour trip to begin with. We moved on to bass fishing and Chuck got us right on fish, all six of us caught a lot. The downside for me, because I wanted good eats and lots of it, is that we caught whole lot of bass that we couldn’t legally keep and I believe this is the expectation not the exception, We did however catch 1 real big sheapshead, another good one and a scorpion fish that all made it to the dinner plate, so for me I was very happy but dang it those 13.5 inch bass sure looked like good dinner fare to this arizona boy! The boat was great, Andre helped me fillet the fish, teaching and letting me get my hands dirty! And btw they probably measured every other fish we brought up even though they knew damn well they were too small, lol! Thanks fellas!

angler's choice

The Angler's Choice Award is given to listings that consistently deliver a high-quality service and earn great reviews from customers.

Ran on my first powerboat at 11 yrs old, owned first ocean boat at 21 yrs. Lived on a boat with my wife of 50 years and our two children for a year. I have fished a lot of Marlin Tournaments for 36 years, and have ocean fished most of my life. To support the family I have been a realtor, then 28 years as a painting contractor while running the charter boat and commercial Lobster fisherman for 5 years. It has been a lifetime on the ocean and I enjoy sharing the experience with families and rookie fisherman.
