The ‘Capt. Dave III’ is a 92’ Blount Ship Yard steel boat with a huge deck and lots of heated cabin space. In fact, she can easily accommodate 70+ anglers who can fish at the same time!
Built back in 1962, the Capt. Dave III cruises at a top speed of 20 knots thanks to her twin 400 HP Detroit Diesel engines. She is a serious fishing machine with modern equipment, electronics, two generators, and professional accessories, as well as two restrooms. The Capt. Dave III is “nice and heavy” according to the crew.
Choose from a nighttime Striped Bass trip or spend your day chasing Fluke. Go for Bluefish, Lingcod, Black Seabass, and Porgy. All of those guys will be caught using the finest gear by Penn and Shimano, along with fiberglass rods made by Gull Rods.
All trips come with the use of live eels, live sandworts, frozen bait, mussels, crabs, and 3 free refills per customer. Captain Dave has rods (Penn, Shimano, fiberglass rods made by Gull Rods) and reels for rent at an additional $5 per rod.
You will be able to purchase drinks and snacks from the fully-stocked galley, which has soda, water, juice, bagels, muffins, coffee, tea, hamburgers, and hot dogs all for very reasonable prices. Once you’re done fishing, you will be able to keep the catch that is within local laws. Captain Dave will see you soon!

Amazing Day on the Water!

Had such a great time out on the water! The crew was super friendly and helped us get set up with rods, tackle, and bait. It was a beautiful day, and I had the best time fishing with my sister and brother. We didn’t catch any keepers but still had a blast. Highly recommend—and I’ll definitely be booking again!

Our first fishing trip with the kids and friends was absolutely amazing! The excitement on their faces when they caught their first fish was priceless. 5 Hour Trip – Night on July 27, 2022
The main reason for booking the trip was to spread my father’s ashes at sea because he loved to fish. Captain Dave was awesome as he set time aside from the trip to make the spreading easier. Mike one of the mates was funny and helpful as me, and my brother had not fished this area in over 30 years and my son was on his first trip. Finally, a heartfelt thanks needs to go to Kim, she welcomed us into to the boat and made us feel welcomed and really put our minds at ease throughout the trip. Captain Dave and the crew made this event for me and my family a great memory that we will cherish the rest of our lives and whenever we come back to visit, we will be fishing with Captain Dave!!

I bought a day trip with Capt. Dave Fishing as gift for my husband and we had a great time despite challenging weather conditions. While we were not so lucky to catch anything a few more experienced fishermen on the boat were able to pull some in. The crew was great. Joe and Alex were extremely helpful and really taught me a lot. Which I appreciated the time they took to help us out. We are looking forward to future trips with Capt. Dave and his crew.

This trip was amazing. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, boat was clean and fully stocked with food and gear, and we caught at least 10 fish. We actually lost count at some point. Flounder, sting rays, sharks, sea robin. Every time we needed help with a catch or tangled line, someone came over to help us within minutes. Would definitely recommend this trip and yes - we’ll be back again this season.
