You can’t go wrong when you Fish With a Pro. Captain William offers exciting fishing trips for anglers of all skill levels. He's been tournament fishing and guiding on Lake Okeechobee for over 25 years.
Captain William has tournament fished against some of the top pros in the world. Pros such as Roland Martin, Kevin Van Dam, Michael Iaconelli, Shaw Grigsby, and Jimmy Houston just to name a few. With that comes a wealth of knowledge of where the hot spots are and how to catch them. He’s been fishing on the FLW and B.A.S.S. circuit for over 23 years.
Captain William is a 4-time Florida B.A.S.S. Nation Angler of the Year, a 2-time Walmart BFL Champion, and a 2-time Florida B.A.S.S. Nation-State Champion to boot. Including his recent 2021 Florida B.A.S.S. Nation-State Title win! These are just a few of the many titles he holds, so if you are up for some top-notch fishing, join him on beautiful Lake Okeechobee!
With his primary goal to make your trip a very enjoyable and memorable experience, Capt. William will work hard to put his talent to work for you. He will provide you with top-quality rods, reels, tackle, and lures to make a great catch possible.
On your day out, you will be targeting Largemouth Bass with artificial lures and/or wild shiners with light tackle or spinning rods. Fly fishing is also an option – just let the captain know in advance.
Fish With a Pro operates a 20’ Triton Bass boat. This professional fishing machine comes powered by a brand new single 200 HP Mercury engine.
This vessel is equipped with an ice-box for your snacks & refreshments.

Tight Lines and Great Times
3/4 Day Trip on December 28, 2024
If you are taking kids fishing or have a competitive group you have to go fishing with William. His trip tournament adds a little friendly competition to the trip and keeps the boat engaged until the end. My son landed his personal biggest bass. William was great with our 2 13yr old boys and dad. He was super patient with the boys assisting them with tangles and providing guidance in an instructive and patient manner. He also quickly switched spots or lures or techniques when things slowed down. The boys are also excited to see their YouTube video the guide creates from the trip. Overall everyone had a great time fishing . Hopefully we are lucky enough to make it backto fish with William again. I would recommend William to anyone looking for an overall great guided trip.

Awesome Captain - Rough Day
3/4 Day Trip on March 11, 2025
My husband has always wanted to fish the lake so I booked a 6 hour trip while visiting Florida. Captain William Wood is very knowledgeable and makes you feel comfortable. He did his best to put us on fish. The morning was cool with temperatures in the 50’s-60’s and the wind was not our friend. We caught one fish on artificial and had to switch to live bait. We caught 2 more to end the day. Not the catch we were hoping for but understandable under the conditions. The time that Captain William Wood takes to make the trip memorable is awesome. Love the pics and videos.

SUMMER SPECIALS 4H PM!! on April 21, 2025
Captain William was great! He was very knowledgeable both with history of the lake/area and ESPECIALLY the fishing. He had us on fish immediately in our first spot and whenever the fishing slowed in a spot, he would move to another spot with fish. He was excellent helping both of us, but especially my elderly dad who needed a little more help than average! Overall, Cpt. William gave my dad and I a memory for a lifetime! Not to mention all of the awesome pictures and videos he took along the way! Highly recommend a trip with Captain William!!

Fishing in Tough Weather
3/4 Day Trip on January 20, 2025
We started our day on a cloudy lake and some nice fish, then the weather rolled into the lake. We had wind and rain. Captain William kept me on the fish showing me techniques to match the weather. They worked! We finished with a great bag for the day. Captain William was patient with me while showing me the different techniques. Between the fish and the stories I had a great time. Thanks Captain I will definitely see you next year when I come back to Florida. Tight lines
