Sierpe Fishing offers you the chance to take on an unbelievable mix of gamefish, battling in the rivers, shallows, and offshore bluewaters against anything from Snook and Roosterfish to Mahi Mahi and Yellowfin Tuna.
You will be launching onto the beautiful Sierpe River and making your way to the best spots for each species through lush mangroves full of monkeys and exotic birds. Costa Rica’s biodiversity is a sight to behold!
And where better to see it than at a biological reserve like Caño Island? Here, you can take on a full cast of big game and reef fish while enjoying some stunning scenery. You really don’t have to head far to find monsters like Yellowfin Tuna and Mahi Mahi here. Fancy fishing closer to shore? Hit the shallows for Roosterfish and Snapper or stay in the river itself for Snook, Tarpon, and who knows what else!
Enjoy all this and more aboard a modern, 25’ custom-built center console. Built in 2009, the vessel boasts an array of navigational electronics, an ice box for your catch, and outriggers to troll effectively for Tuna and Wahoo. She also has quality rods and reels and a selection of lures to match your chosen species.
Captain Pablo Chaves prides himself on always staying adaptable during his trips. If you like, you can switch things up and try new techniques in order to really get a feel for the fish. This is a slice of genuine Costa Rican sportfishing with a warm welcome and a can-do attitude. What more could you ask for?
Please note: We are located Sierpe, far away from Puerto Jimenez. If you are staying in Puerto Jimenez keep in mind that it’s more than 2 hours driving distance to Sierpe.
