Captain Mac is operated by Capt. Joe McNamee. At the age of 19, Joe got his first captain's license and since then, he has been mastering his cast and exploring the waters from Cape May to Brigantine, gaining the necessary knowledge with over 40 years experience operating party and charter boats. If you are looking for an experienced captain who knows the area like the back of his hand, you have found the right place.
The 'Captain Mac II' will be your boat for the day. She is a 27' Shamrock powered by a 315 HP Yanmar engine. Captain Mac II features state-of-the-art navigational electronics and fishfinding technologies on board. There is a private toilet, enclosed cabin to get out of the sun or whatever mother nature throws at you. All tackle and bait will be supplied for you and your party but if you have your own 'lucky rod and reel' – feel free to bring them along.
Captain Mac offers a variety of fishing trips that could suit any angler's needs. A complete beginner or seasoned veteran, everyone is welcome to join in the adventure. All you need to bring is lunch, your favorite drinks, and a sweatshirt – it could be cool on the ocean. The crew will take care of the rest.
Your day out on the water will see you concentrating on local species in season such as: Bluefish, Flounder, Sea Bass, Blackfish, Croakers, Weakfish, Triggerfish, Drumfish and Striped Bass. You might even catch some Sharks. All you have to do is show up.

Me and 3 friends were spending a long weekend in Ocean City, NJ and wanted to do a charter. Captain Mac was one of the best rated in the area so we picked him and don’t regret it. ended up catching 3 sand tigers even with the less than ideal water conditions. 100% recommend picking Captain Mac for your next fishing charter in Cape May/ Ocean City!

Despite some rain, some wind and a lot of motion we had a nice fishing trip. Caught a few fish each in four hours , most were released. Capt Mac was excellent to us. Sociable, very knowledgeable, attentive to all our needs. Definitely would go again.

Amazing trip with Captain Mac. We took our two daughters out for their birthdays and it couldnt have been better. We caught a mix of fish throughout the trip. We targeted Sea Bass and Flounder and had a great day out on the water!

These guys are great, Captain Mac, and his crewmate Joe are extremely knowledgeable and have fished these waters for decades. We only ended up catching one small fish. Unfortunately, it was a morning where bad weather and wind negatively impacted our success however he did give us the option prior , if we wanted to reschedule or go to an area for smaller fish. However, we opted for taking our chances on several areas and larger fish, and aa any true fisherman knows that this is how it goes sometimes. These guys are personable, extremely knowledgeable with great service . Go with them and you won’t go wrong.
