Niagara Fish Assassins Sportfishing invites you to team up with Captain Mark Defoy and cruise Lake Ontario in style, landing fish as you go! Capt. Mark is always confident enough to guarantee your satisfaction on the water, whether you're an old hand at the hobby or someone just starting out.
Capt Mark has a nice spot at the St Catharines Marina with a gazebo and BBQ overlooking the marina itself. It's just perfect for a little get-together before or after the trip.
His boat is a 40' Searay express cruiser that runs on twin 350 HP Mercruiser engines. She's a spacious vessel, with enough room for 8 anglers to fish in comfort. Apart from all the necessary safety and navigation gear, there's also a vacuum toilet aboard – convenient for longer trips.
If you're a fan of freshwater angling, Lake Ontario is definitely the place for you. With Capt. Mark's help, you'll become a fish assassin yourself in no time! The species you'll be targeting here are Brown and Lake Trout, as well as Coho and Chinook Salmon.
You'll be provided with all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you'll need, so just make sure you have a freshwater fishing licence packed and ready. Captain Mark did a stellar job of finding fish, setting up the rods, helping us try to do the reeling properly, changing up lures when one did not seem to interest the fish, kept us entertained with stories about past trips. We caught a total of 15 fish, and unfortunately did lose some hooked fish. It was all very exciting.
Group of five got to get out on the water to enjoy a fantastic afternoon of salmon and trout fishing. Captain Mark made the trip with his wealth of knowledge and storytelling. Will certainly be booking again.
