I’ve fished with Ron for the past 38 years in the salt. From long ranging in Mexico to Offshore Tuna fishing out of Fort Bragg and everything in between. When he began Nautilus Sportfishing, after retiring from his full time prior professional career, I was excited for him. He’s respected by the fleet and has earned their respect as a networking Captain. Now Hunter, his deckhand, is in an outstanding position to learn and grow with one of the best examples of how to be in life. It’s a beautiful thing to watch Hunter mature over the years and express his passions through his work ethics. Boden Constructions fishing trips are well received by the crews, and it gives us a way to show our appreciation to them. Great people getting together to build beautiful memories for life. Cpt. Ron and Hunter provided a superior fishing experience. I booked the Nautilus for a full day of fishing, celebrating two friend and family birthdays. Ron and Hunter worked hard all day to get us on fish. All fishing tackle, live bait, and nice rod/reels were included.. We limited on striped bass by early morning, and then focused on halibut. The large tide differential was not ideal for the flattie bite, but, Ron and Hunter coached us well to prevent dropped fish. We landed up with limits of striped bass, and a halibut per angler plus one.  I’ll definitely be back! Thank you to Cpt Ron and Hunter for a wonderful experience.

Capt Ron was super knowledgeable and helpful with our group. We’re all frankly pretty bad at fishing, but Ron and crew were extremely helpful with setting up our lines and helping us when catching fish.

Ron also clearly knows what he’s doing - we caught maybe 3x compared to our last trip with another guide. Part of this is of course just luck of the draw, but Ron’s got a great knowledge of currents, tides, and the spots to check out. And to top it all off, his phone is constantly going boing-boing-boing with fresh tips from his nautical besties.

We had a beautiful day fishing on the Nautilus!! Going out in the afternoon, we ended up catching some massive halibut outside of the Golden Gate Bridge.  Then we went back into the Bay to catch some tasty stripers.  Captain Ron and Hunter knew where to catch fish and were great to talk to.  Definitely will go out again!

This was our second trip out with Captain Ron and I would never go with another fisherman. He is a legend and had us on the fish the whole time we were out. We caught our limit of Striped Bass by 8am and halibut by noon. Both Ron and Hunter (first mate) were very knowledgeable and did a great job cleaning and filleting the fish at no extra charge. Ca’t wait to go out again!
