Fishing in Jordan is truly an incredible experience. If you haven't ticked it off your bucket list yet, now is the perfect opportunity to do so. Captain Marwan Shriem of Aqaba Charters has decades of experience and will be with you every step of the way, teaching you the tricks of the trade.
Spend the day on board a great 24' Proline boat which can comfortably fit you and 7 friends, with space to spare. This vessel has a 200 HP Yamaha engine. Coupled with fishfinder and Capt. Marwan's extensive knowledge of the area, you are sure to be on the fish before you know it.
Even kids will enjoy the shorter trips. There is no minimum age, as Capt. Marwan believes that mom and dad know best. If you think your little one is ready to hold a rod, then bring them along! There is even a bed on board which the kids can nap in if it get's a bit too much. Life vests are provided for them as well.
Between May and November you will target a range of species, including Swordfish, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Barracuda, Kingfish, Amberjack, and Shark. November to March will see you reeling in Skipjack Tuna and Bonito, and April is great for catching Dogtooth Tuna. So whatever time of year you go, there will be some great fishing opportunities.
When going after these great fish you'll be using Penn, Shimano, and Stellar rods and reels. This top of the line gear will not let you down when you are reeling in your trophy catch. There were seven of us on the trip and Capt Marwan made sure that each caught a nice fish, not to mention the few we managed to lose after hooking. He knows his waters and his techniques so you can count on action, if you go fishing with him. Tuna of 4-5 kg were fierce fighters, as well as a 12 kg barracuda, not to mention the new experience of catching squid from as deep as 500 meters below your boat. Highly recommended!

Aqaba is now one of our favorite places after spending the morning with Dr. Marian.
Incredibly beautiful experience with our family. Fishing at 500 m depth in a stunning location about 15 minutes by boat from Aqaba. Super friendly captain. Catch: octopus, 7 sharks, pomfret. The latter cleaned by Captain Marwan and we had a delicious meal at home.

We had a lovely experience with Captain Marwan! He is truly a professional fisherman. We were able to bring home tuna, barracuda, and Pomfret. He had a variety of equipment to ensure that we could bring home fish. He was so kind to show us a place that would clean and fillet it for us.
I took my two sons (15 and 10) and a friend's son (9) with four of us and we had a fantastic time. Captain Marwan made the the time on the Sea enjoyable, educational, and comfortable. We caught a Mahi Mahi, had squids escaped, and the Captain wanted to stay out longer for us to catch more, but we had to go back in for another appointment. But this shows the dedication of Captain Marwan to give the best experience even by lengthening the time at no cost. I would definitely recommend Captain Marwan and look forward to going again if in Jordan.

Captain Marwan Shriem was born in Kuwait, and from a young age was fishing there. In 1990 he moved to the Philippines where he spent the next 5 years mastering many fishing techniques. He then moved to Jordan, where all his efforts paid off in the form of some amazing record-breaking catches. Some of the most notable include the 172 kg Swordfish he caught in the Red Sea, a Tiger Shark in 2000 weighing a staggering 301 kg, and a Wahoo in the Red Sea again, weighing 53 kg. He is very experienced and loves having people on board and sharing his passion with them.
