With Callion Fishing Charters, some of the fantastic angling opportunities that the waters of Marathon have to offer will be all yours. With decades of fishing experience and local knowledge, Captain John Callion will provide you and your family with a fun-filled adventure.
You will spend your day on a 25’ SeaVee center console, built in 2017. This is a seaworthy boat with a 300HP Suzuki engine and enough room for up to 4 adult anglers and one kid. It is equipped with a GPS and a fishfinder to save you time while searching for fish. There is also a livewell, which will be loaded with bait to make your hooks irresistible and an icebox to keep the catch fresh during the day.
Callion Fishing Charters has tailored a variety of packages that range from 4 to 8 hours on the water. Each trip can be customized to meet your specific angling needs. Battle the “Silver King” Tarpon anytime from February through April or spend your day fishing for anything from Bonefish and Permit to Snook, Mangrove Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, Spanish and King Mackerel, and even various types of Sharks.
All trips include the use of bait, rods, and lures, as well as quality fly fishing equipment if needed. The captain will also cover the licenses for you and your party and will clean the keeper fish when you’re done catching.

Holy mackerel (and a bull shark)
We had a great day on the water with Capt/ John. John is a lifelong resident and comes from a fishing family here and he clearly knows his stuff. From the start, we were hooking mackerel right and left. We caught over 30 fish with about twenty keeper sized mackerel. After collecting our fill of mackerel and smaller fish, we dropped a line for shark and before long, we hooked a 200 lb bull shark. John was a terrific guide and helped both my boys reel it in. John fileted some of the fish for us and sent us to a nearby spot where they cooked our catch. It was delicious. We really couldn’t have asked for more.

Great Family Time
Took our 28-year old daughter and her boyfriend on the four-hour morning excursion. The waters were pretty rough, but Captain John found where the fish were biting. I don’t believe there was a span of five minutes that at least one of us didn’t have a fish hooked. John was extremely personable as well as knowledgeable. When coming back ashore, he entertained us with his filleting skills while feeding the pelicans. I can’t wait to bring our catch tonight to Lazy Days for a home-cooked dinner of fresh Snapper.

I’ve been on guided trips before in my home state of Louisiana , but this was the best I’ve had. Myself and two friends from Colorado had chartered a trip with Captain John Callion . All the reviews I read were 100 percent true. The minute after anchored out, we were on fish. It lasted the entire time. Had a blast
John’s a very knowledgeable, born and raised fisherman with a world of patience. He got me and my 8 yo son on a ton of amber jacks, barracuda and lemon sharks .Just like I asked, he kept the fish catching at a max so my kid would have the best time, and he definitely did. Would highly recommend him to anyone down here looking for a great guide and person to be out on the water with.
